Rise of the Ronin hits just right. The parry is mapped to an off button also so it throws off muscle memory and feels fresh. About an hour into the open world, Game looks better than I thought it would based on footage I'd seen and you don't notice the pop in as much when you're playibg but I was not expecting it to feel choppy in frame rate mode, it's not too bad, only really when sprinting and panning the camera quickly. It's scratching the action game itch and the AC Shadows itch. Definitely feels Team Ninja and oddly more refined than the linear Wu Long Fallen Dynasty. Exactly what I wanted, great combat with effortless gameplay built around it and the generic checklist open world with a story thar is largely ignorable will do just nicely.
