Well, people started to say that Nintendo didn't need achievements because they are market leaders. If you believe your platform has the winning strategy, why would you want to copy something from a rival platform that (in their eyes) is a losing strategy? That's why this thread got de-railed so quickly. I think they should have achievements as they are very popular videos on YouTube and will help promote the Switch/Switch 2 |
When you use 'need' it feels like an attack. The switch is doing insanely well. You can't say they need it - when they clearly don't.
You can say that "achievements are very popular videos on YouTube and will help promote the Switch/Switch 2". That can be your argument for them. But it's all an opinion.
You're opinion is it will help the system sell more. But that's just an opinion. So you get to have your opinion. They get to have their opinion. No one is right, no one is wrong.
I got Disgaea 5 on the switch because it had achievements built into the game. I didn't get Disgaea 1 because he had no achievements built in. Does the switch need achievements? No. Do I need them if I want to play certain games on the switch - yes.
