Xbox are doing condoms now. Huh. I wouldn't trust them to be honest.

If you really want an Xbox logo on a PC. Buy a sticker.

You don't need to, most gaming PCs are Windows anyway.

Loving a brand so much is not healthy dude.

“You can buy into both ecosystems”

Why would people do that though? If you own a PS5, you can get both platforms games. The only difference is GamePass and release date for some of the titles, but that’s clearly not a big enough draw for the main market.

The most popular titles on both platforms are the same evergreen service titles. There’s not much reason to own both, more so now that MS is putting Xbox games on PS5.

Even next gen if the next Xbox is a branded PC, yeah that means you’ll get Sony games, but not in the same ecosystem people built on PS4, it’ll be Steam.

People already buy into multiple ecosystems. Switch, Steam, PSN, Live, GoG, Epic, Battle.net. It's all a choice and comes down to value. Some people will change if the value is better.

MAUs means alot more then you think.

Before you start your spin; my post was how Microsoft introducing forced Microsoft sign in six years ago to Minecraft on PlayStation didn't actually add any Monthly Active users to the Xbox eco-system.

So the forced addition of a Microsoft account has not added any MAU's at all, this make's everything else you've written utterly pointless.

There are many layers to this.....You need to stop looking at this as 1 dementionial and start thinking 4D chess.

Congratulations; of all the utter bollocks ever posted in this forum, this ranks as #1.

Great Job.

Sony want to make money by selling art, Nintendo want to make money by selling fun, Microsoft want to make money.

On PC, yes. On console you buy into one. Some people may own more than one console but most don’t.

What spin? If MAUs means nothing, why do companies like Xbox and Sony do it? For laughs and giggles? Lol mate, you have alot to learn.

As for your second part, typical response for someone who has zero answers. You addressed nothing. Congratulations.

You have kept telling us for years why Microsoft has a great strategy and with every passing year Xbox has been closer to its way out. Your article about the next Xbox is a year old already, so it means nothing in light of Microsoft making major changes like putting more and more of their games on Sony's PS5.

What you call a trojan horse strategy is what everyone else refers to as going third party because that's what Microsoft is really doing.

But I agree that Microsoft is one of the biggest first party publishers in the world. That's by virtue of there being only three of them.

I literally wrote an article years ago about Xbox leaving the industry but guess you conviently missed that one right?

To sum up your entire point with one question.

Why are they making another Xbox?

I have two theories as to why:

a) They are doing it for people like you, who just have to buy anything Xbox (And they are seriously overestimating how many of you there are out there) or,

b) They are scared of the impact it may have in the stock market the news that they will be leaving the console market, so they are letting their hardware sector to die slowly, until we get to the point that even investors will see it as a good thing when they finally pull the plug.

A) I Primarily game on PC bud, if they make another Xbox or not, does not affect me. I own an Xbox for convenience purposes only. But there are 30+ million customers who buy Xbox consoles soooo that's alot of me types.

B) So they are letting the hardware die by making even more hardware including a Hand-held.. lol come on man, that's not how companies show they are exiting the buisness, asmuch as you want them to fail, your reasoning is very poor.

No one on this site can answer that question as to why MS are making more hardware. I have not seen one answer that makes abit of sense.
