Mine's gotta be Nikoderiko.

It's been more than a decade since the last DKC game, and Niko scratches that itch nicely. It's not the least bit original, but its well made, tons of fun, and brings back those warm memories of classic platformers.

Throw in a stellar soundtrack by David Wise himself and you have my top Switch game of the year.

Any news on a physical for this one? Really want to check it out.

No confirmation yet but the devs say they are looking into their options for a physical release.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster for me. There was just not much in terms of good exclusives last year.

Multiplatform-wise tho, its Unicorn Overlord. 10/10

Unicorn Overlord is my pick too.

For me Dragon Quest 3 remake, an incredible RPG in its purest form and a really good looking remake in the HD 2D style!

Joining in with the Emio The Smiling Man.

A rare storytelling masterclass by the Nintendo staff you don't usually expect it from. They delivered one of the best haunt in the Nintendo catalogue and managed to revived a previously dormant series.
Congrats to Sakamoto and his team at Mages there.

Otherwise, Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven and Dragon Quest III HD-2D are my other picks of the year. Reminding how excelling Square Enix can be when they don't just butt all their eggs into the FF basket really.

I should also give a nod to Chop Goblins.

It's an hour-long $10 shooter with graphics straight out of 1997, (intentionally so) but its just so charmingly whacky and crunchy that it's some of the most fun I had all year.
