Factor in also Nintendo has patented their own version of DLSS which apparently can work with a lower performance overhead than normal DLSS, so it only needs to render 540p to get 1080p, can get 4K from 720p or 1080p. 

Yeah I definitely noticed it doesn't look like a generational graphical upgrade, and pretty much just looks like MK8D to me. But I think that's just because with the cartoon art style of MK graphics simply aren't gonna get much better than they already are. I'm sure there will be some small graphical details we'll notice are better and maybe more stuff in the backgrounds, stuff like that, but cartoon style aesthetic is pretty close to maxed out already with Switch graphics. Resolution bumps will make a difference but actual graphical fidelity isn't gonna improve that much for that art style because there isn't really anything to improve much.

It falls quite short on the GPU side, meaning it'll probably need to upscale from something like 480p or 540p.

Docked, the Switch 2 is supposed to have 3.1 TFlops (1.7 TFlops handheld), about half of the 2060 and more comparable to a 3050 mobile (which at 35W with minimum clock speeds just has 2.9 TFlops). But we saw that this doesn't mean much considering all the "impossible" ports that the Switch got.

Btw, with those TFlops numbers the Switch 2 would be roughly 4 times as powerful as the OG Switch in raw numbers (307 TFlops handheld mode, 738 TFlops docked), and with other optimizations in hardware and software this will be a nice generational upgrade anyway, plus DLSS (or any other equivalent developed by Nintendo themselves) can help quite a bit in such a format, especially in handheld mode where the small screen naturally hides some details anyway.

That reveal trailer is boring as hell.

It's definitely very Sony-like ... it even feels a lot like the PS5 reveal trailer Sony did, thankfully at least we got a few seconds of actual gameplay. 

I think Furukawa is very focused on not doing anything too stupid with the design. They went very Playstation-like with the name and first look trailer this time. 

The whole "we don't do anything like Playstation because we're Nintendo" thing is kind of dying, makes sense given Furukawa's age, he was a young man when the Playstation came out and started to dominate Japan in the 90s and a lot of the Playstation marketing of that era was aimed at the age Furukawa would have been back then, he probably does not have that same kind of attitude towards how Sony does things as Nintendo's old guard does. 

I'm actually drooling about this. LOVE battle mode. 24 players would not only be madness (in a good way), but opens up the possibility of multiple teams (4 VS 4) for certain modes.

I hope that this time, unlike with vanilla MK8, they give us actual good battle mode stages ^^

We won't be able to use mouse controls while in handheld mode. For people like me, who tend to play mostly on the go, gyro has been a blessing in games like Metroid Prime, DOOM or even Zelda BotW.

So... the mouse thing is a good option to have. But I won't use it frequently. Long life to gyro xD
