Halo MCC might be close to 10 million as is, but it's hard to say.

I should rephrase, I think 10M+ units sold on PS5 and Switch 2 is possible.

You... think it can sell 10 million+ on Switch 2 and PS5 alone? O_O

Nothing is impossible mind you, but Halo is not that big anymore. PC with a userbase of a billion players and FPS bias didn't stop the IP from declining so I don't see how late porting a collection to Playstation and Switch will do much. 2-3 million extra copies would be quite good. Anything above that would be excellent imo.

Halo originally made a name for itself for being "thee console FPS". But Microsoft majorly screwed up in a time where other popular console FPS showed up. Now you have Call of Duty, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six, Destiny, Overwatch, and Valorant dominating. It's a brutal competition compared to the old times.

Though I am curious to see how it performs on Switch which has a poor FPS library popularity wise. Maybe Halo MCC has a chance to stand out there, or maybe it'll largely be ignored due to its age and low genre popularity.

FF7 isn't doing better on Switch than on Playstation. Manage your expectations. May not even sell half as well.

Probably not. But it'll sell well enough to be considered a success. Especially if it leads to a resurgence in Japan. Where the series has infamously been declining since the PS1 era just because dedicated home consoles in general have declined significantly over there.

Yes it'll definitely give the series a much needed boost.

Cant wait!

I don't know what to expect from Switch 2 yet. But Rebirth is struggling on base PS5.
In performance mode it looks like someone smeared vaseline on the character models.

Well, if Square release rebirth on switch 2 the game will look worst than ps5 base performance mode (like 540p or 720p upscaled to 1080p) and will target 30 fps, I think...

I think it will look cleaner on Switch 2 at 30fps than on PS5 at 60fps. Base PS5 version uses a terrible anti-aliasing and upscaling solution that made the game look worse than its native resolutions suggest (I didn't mind it personally on my 1080p display, but people are more sensitive to resolutions than me). DLSS will help a lot here.

I think the novelty of Halo being ported over to PlayStation/Nintendo platforms for the first time is a massive draw. I could see it doing 2M - 3M just in its first week alone lol.

It helps that the MCC includes the original trilogy, which is widely considered to be some of the best, single player campaigns for FPS games. I feel like 5M+ lifetime on PS5 is reasonable. I think it reaching 10M+ depends on how well it does on Switch 2.

I haven't bought FF7 Rebirth yet because I don't have a PS5, but if the Switch 2 port is good (and this rumor is real), I'll just get that version, since it's a sure thing I'll own the Switch 2.

I'm personally waiting for that FF7 Remake trilogy collection before I even think of touching this ordeal.

Also, I'm still waiting on that Kirby Planet Robobot remaster(or Deluxe) edition Nate announced so far, therefore I would take what he talks about with a grain of salt.

Rebirth came out last year.

So wont be until 2027 or 2028 (depending on delays) when it comes out.

I'm playing through Remake Intergrade on PC right now and have to say I'm loving it, already 10 hours in - its different from the OG and expands more on the backstory of the Slums and Avalanche that was lacking in the original.

Excited for a potential remaster of Planet Robobot as well - one of my most favorite Kirby games. If they make a Double collection for Switch which includes Triple Deluxe, that would be great too.
