this is such a disaster lol. What on earth is Nintendo thinking?? They are usually very good at "keeping their cards close to their chest", so I'm really stunned at how horribly they're handling the confidentiality of their next system. I genuinely wonder whether they set-up the production of NSW2 in such a way to allow for these leaks to occur, so as to generate word-of-mouth buzz.

Ever consider this is all just the scrapped “Switch Pro” we’re seeing and Nintendo has purposely gotten it out there as a decoy? The real successor could be something much different than a very slightly different looking Switch.

That would be the ultimate trolling lol

Third party peripheral maker Genki are saying these are the exact measurements for Switch 2.

Nintendo confirmed all images and videos are fake

Oh well... back to imagination since no images

The image of the Joycon held by the woman  in the OP thread is legit. The serial number was put into Nintendo's product registration website and works. The mouse pad stuff is legit and corresponds to shipment data.

The Genki stuff is  based on CAD files that have been floating around in China for a while among accessorie makers and are likely legit. Notice Nintendo would not say the design is inaccurate. Genki stated their stuff is 3D printed, so it's not like they were hiding they weren't the actual Joycons or system.

This system is hilariously over leaked, Nintendo's shield of secrecy is falling apart.

I got a theory that maybe what we are seeing are scrapped prototypes that were propositaly disposed to troll the leakers

No, they said that they are not official. There is a difference, even if it is a massive open-door statement.

True, but i find fishy that we get every angle of this hardware but nothing about the lineup. But next week if the leaker is true (I cant anymore dealing with these guys lol), then we will get the official reveal and this mess will be finally over.

Next we will have the writtings on the wall saying how doomed the system is

Well I mean we are getting software leaks now, lol. Red Dead Redemption 2, Tekken 8, FC Soccer yesterday and a bunch of other software listings from other pubs, today we hear Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, Halo: MCC, and MS Flight Simulator are coming.

You're not going to get much out of Nintendo as they rarely directly leak, hardware leaks make more sense if the system is in mass production as all it takes is one person working in a facility of like 1000+ people to take say a Joycon into the washroom on their break and take a photo or someone taking a photo of the dock, etc.  etc.

The accessories aren't fake.
Nintendo's wording was that "The gaming hardware that Genki claims to be Nintendo hardware at CES is unofficial and was not provided to the company by Nintendo."
Which we already knew.

The claim wasn't that these were official Nintendo accessories or that there's a real Switch 2 in there somewhere.
What Genki are saying is that they have obtained the exact measurements of the Switch 2 system. (Presumably from manufacturers.)

Since they know the dimensions, they can create Switch 2 accessories that should fit the system perfectly. They can also create a mock up of what Switch 2 will look like using a 3D printer, or a 3D render. Which are all things that they have done.

These things happen before every iPhone release btw. There's a network of leakers from Chinese manufacturers that probably earn a lot of money providing these dimensions to peripheral companies months in advance, so that they can get ahead of the curve and start producing accessories for the systems before some of their competition.

Here's one selling Switch 2 accessories on Amazon right now, with a mock up of what Switch 2 should look like in terms of size and layout.

Amazon.co.jp: 【LAZIRO】For Nintendo Switch2(2025) ケース クリア TPU素材 き耐衝撃 全面保護 着脱簡単 防水防塵 保護カバー、人間工学に基づいたグリップケース Nintendo Switch2(2025)用(ホワイト) : Electronics

The reason people can bet on these being accurate is because these companies wouldn't sink money into factories mass producing these accessories unless they were very certain that they will fit the final product. Otherwise the accessories will be useless and they'll have flushed that money down the drain.

And the reason we are getting leaks for the model and not the lineup (of games) from them is because manufacturers know nothing about the games. All they know is what Nintendo asked them to produce. Which is the parts of the system itself.
And the reason leaks are more common to come out of factories in low labour cost countries is because there is a big incentive, namely money.

Companies like Genki will pay good money to obtain the measurements of the Switch early.
What is the incentive for an employee at a game studio to leak and verify game information? They probably already make a lot more money than the people in the factories in south east Asia. And news oulets aren't usually paying for those leaked stories anyway. When someone leaks a game, it's usually just for clout/an ego boost.

I wouldnt call these a leak for now, with no visual evidence, rumors would be the appropiate word.

Aside from FF and the MS games. The first few ones cited came mostly from retailers leaked listing(From France apparently), so it's difficult to think they'd have bogus information but oh well, I'm just glad that we're getting closer to the release we'll get from the actual reveal before March fiscal year reporting at the latest.
