Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country and Pokémon Emerald

Nostalgia or is it the games themselves?

I think it's both

I got it, it was a thread about asking for examples of cozy games to play, not the same thing. By cozy games I meant games that were easy on the head, light hearted and fluffy. Stuff like Flower and what not. I suppose it's similar but not the same intention.

The game that makes you feel the warmest while replaying. (Your title of this thread)

Legit, I'm not trying to bust you....But in my opinion, "warmest" games equals "cozy" games. Just my 2 cents.

For what it's worth, these two are completely different categories for me. I don't have very many games in either category personally, but there's zero overlap. For me, a cozy game is something I can easily pick up at any time and feel quite relaxed playing it, whereas warmth... is a completely separate level. It doesn't have to be cozy, it could fill me with warmth for any reason. If cozy is what makes you feel warm, then sure, it might be difficult for you to see others feel differently (which is OK, mind you - not trying to scold you or anything!).

Crash Bandicoot 3 or Lumines.

DKC 1. I could play it indefinably. And that water music... oh man...

That's each Kirby game for me

It would be some of my earliest games. Since I started with Master System, going back to Hang-On, The Ninja (which I sadly traded away back then), Tennis Ace, Slap Shot, Rampage and the likes do really take me back. The real winner might be Phantasy Star, the best SMS game, the cave music certainly never gets old.

Some of old Lucas adventures are among top candidates, for me particularly first Monkey Island and Loom. But knowing them by heart, it's not really playing anymore with those.

My absolute favorite Wing Commander is a game I've played annually for 30 years and there is always both thrill and warmness.

Couple later things would be Okami and Sega GT (especially one of the Night Section tracks, was it A or B, the one with a power ballad BGM).
