While I think I'm gonna hold off on buying the next system (maybe try to wait for a second version of the system like when they added more battery life to the Switch) cuz my Switch backlog is ridiculous, I am definitely excited to see, presumably this month, the reveal of the Switch 2 and games. I'm eagerly awaiting what the next 3D Mario and Mario Kart have in store, as those should be the major launch period games.

I'm intrigued if they will go with a Bowser's Fury open world route, or something else. And also I'm hoping Mario Kart adds in a bunch more non-Mario content to really expand the themes of the game far beyond what MK8 did. And hopefully they'll have some fun surprises to announce for next gen.

I'd be super surprised if the reveal isn't this month, so we should have some next gen excitement in the coming weeks!

I'm hype

Personally, I'm looking forward to the usual suspects: a new 3D Mario, a new Mario Kart, a new Zelda (later on), a new Donkey Kong, etc.

What I'm truly hyped about, however, is a graphically enhanced version of Metroid Prime 4. This is the killer app for me. I believe it could look significantly better than the Switch version, even though that version will already be impressive.

I also hope Nintendo will make bold partner deals again in the Switch 2 era. I'd love to see (console) exclusive titles with more mature content, similar to GoldenEye 007 and Eternal Darkness in the past. Furthermore, I’m very much looking forward to the new IP from Retro Studios, and I hope Intelligent Systems will provide titles beyond the Fire Emblem franchise again.

Finally, I'm excited for a wealth of high-quality third-party ports of existing games from PS4/Xbox One, PS5/Xbox Series X/S, and I really hope Nintendo will secure virtually all the new third-party games as well.

I will never understand how people confused “I am hyped” for “I am hype” in the first place. Seems to be a younger generation, I think. Maybe a language barrier? No idea. Always has confused me. 

I'm not sure you can expect GTA6 to be able to run on the Switch 2... or PS4...

i am literally about to start tearing my flesh off. it has been only two days and i keep checking social media for rumors and leaks. (The social media blocks on my laptop stopped working a few days ago...i need to get this sorted out soon.)

edit: this was a bit exaggeratory...i've only checked social media 2x tdy. It's still a bit more than 0x, though not by much lol.

I can't wait

Ocarina of Time Remake seems pretty likely since the 3D remake is already over 13 years old. The least ambitious case I could see happening is a very enhanced port of the 3D remake that remaps the controls, ups the resolution, and some new assets. It would be like Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, maybe a little more of an enhanced port. 

GTA 6 is not happening, because I don't think Rockstar would bother with a cloud-only version. And we know it's not coming to PS4 and Xbox One. GTA 5 might not even happen because even though Wii U could've run the game, GTA 5 makes a killing on GTA Online and Nintendo consoles have crappy online infrastructure. 

The only 3D GTA not on Nintendo systems I can see coming to Switch 2 is an enhanced port of GTA 4.
