I normally get hooked on a new longer game during the holidays and we play co-op games together but this year there is no such release that interests me and we ran out of co-op games to play :/ I'm playing Tlou Pt2 again which fits the bill, next to more time in VR. But for action couch co-op I have no idea anymore.

It's -11 outside, with windchill -18, better to stay inside.

I recommend Path of Exile 2. It has couch co-op now I believe. Fun game to destroy as 2.

I'm sorry, but music and a person's favourite hobby (video games) are integral parts of life, the same as food and freedom. They should be classified as a human right, music especially but also the main hobby, if someone is deprived of music or time to engage with their hobby at least once a week this should be considered as something that needs to be rectified in the same way as if someone was given solitary confinement as a punishment or clinical depression. The soul needs time to enjoy what it wants to pursue and not everyone is so lucky to be in a job that fulfils this need.

Ok, but just do it in moderation. Some of you guys here are addicted to video games. Get away from the TV, it's ok to go outside and have some fun.

Oh I know but I don't think it's possible to get addicted to video games for most people cause of intermediate burn out, it happens so much and is common enough to prevent addiction. I seen PS wrap up number and 1000 - 1500 hours a year, which is most people on here, isn't an addiction. It's a healthy sub 20 hours a week or less and some heavy weekend binging. It's far better than going to the pub on the weekend or partying and the days of it being anti social are long past. I'm more antisocial with gaming than the opposite but the option to be social and play co-op or MP games is right there and incredibly easy. But yes, I agree, Moderation is key. I seen PS wrap ups with over 3000 hours for the year, some close to 4000, not on here but on Twitter and that's way too far at one third of each day, that's addiction but it's in very few people from what I can see, unless more people are hiding their stats.

I normally play a story driven game while my spouse goes to visit his family in Ohio. I was originally going to play FF7 Rebirth but I think I might do Alan Wake 2 instead. Not quite sure yet, I have 3 or 4 days to decide.

Very cool, you too both have life sorted. I wish I had someone who was into games so I could enjoy a game in turns or do some Co-op gaming.

I dont have any traditional round of games to play for Christmas but I'm absolutely gonna be enjoying my few days of break with what I'm playing right now

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (PC)

Grand Theft Auto V (PS5)

Shin Megami Tensei V (NS)

I was just outside shoveling snow for the last hour, and yes, it is cold, but at least it isn't windy here. That would have really sucked.

Thanks! That does look like it ticks all the right boxes we're looking for gameplay wise.
(Not sure what's up with all the monetization packs)

I downloaded the Founder's pack with early access, will give it whirl!
PS5 Pro enhanced too, nice.

I'll go for a run again tomorrow like every other day. It should 'warm up' to -7, but at least the sun should be out and less wind. I survived -7 with -20 windchill for a 16K run. Yesterday was -2, dark grey with some snow drizzle. That often feels colder than dry -8 with the sun out.
Last night walking the dog it was cold enough to make my nostrils freeze breathing in.

Not much snow to shovel here, about 1 cm... Not enough to make running on frozen dirt more comfortable. Got to be careful with the ankles this time of year, frozen tracks trying to trip you up everywhere.

It's the only time to see the sun this time of year, when it's -7 or lower. Any warmer and it's overcast all day :/

Grand Tefth Auto 5 is always a good choice, for the most popular game ever, the campaign is actually underated, keeping track of the trophy numbers and people just don't engage with it, proportionally to people who own the game it's far under percentages of other games. Personally beat it half a dozen times now and it's such a good campaign.

If you find yourself getting frustrated with FF7 Remake cause of it's slow, molasses progression, trust me, it's worth playing for Rebirth. Rebirth fixes every issue you'll encounter and then adds so much more on top. Playing it now after a sluggish playthrough of Remake and It's phenomenal. Aside from the image quality but I'm sure your PC will do it justice.

I don't. But there is a game which feels like Christmas to me, although not because it's a Christmas game. The first DKC. I bought it around that time back when it came out and played it religiously. So when this time of season comes around, and there's snow and lights and the music etc, I always get the hankering for another round of that game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Before that, it was New Leaf. I'd still do it on New Leaf if my 3DS weren't in rough shape. Once I unlock Christmas Nights Into Dreams (bought the game before delisting but haven't played) that might become a Christmas routine.
