You dont have to care about my feelings. I dont like forced dialogue. Im not sure about this "war" you speak of.

Then complain about poorly written dialogue, stop focusing on the fact that it was about trans representation.

Change can be awkward, talking about stuff like this can feel weird until it's normalized. The dialogue was only awkward because we're collectively not used to having these conversations. yet. which is a significant part of why we do art. I also found the dialogue awkward but my issue wasn't that it was about a pronoun, it just felt a little stilted.

And we should be applauding the attempt, not demonizing it. We'll never get better if you don't foster change.

Alot (I reckon most people) of people don't want this normalized.

Its happended so often, that theres inserted trans focus, that happend to be bad, that people are now totally offput by any of it.
And its killing game sales.  Its also both poorly written, and likely also poorly written because its out of place, trans representation.

Bioware is probably going to go under, because they choose to go full on woke representation.
The thing is, trans people probably make up like 0.1% of the population (even less than parts of the LGBTA+)
If something is offputting to like 90% of the population that arn't LGTBA, and you make it a focus of your game..... its gonna sell poorly.
Which is fine... as a developer or programmer, as long as your okay with your game doing poorly.

This right here is pretty much exactly why I am so exhausted by this entire discussion. You outright are saying 'diversity is bad' and 'trans people shouldn't be represented'. You aren't even being subtle about it. for all intents and purposes you're saying that trans people should shut up and know their place and...not sure if you've been paying attention but history will not look back fondly upon you and others who say things like that.

You'd have to be blind or ignorant or outright unwilling to accept the truth if you don't see where the world is headed and where we're going. Sorry bub, as time goes on, and we understand more about psychology and adapt to change, stuff like asking for a person's pronouns will be normalized. because it should. Resisting that change is admitting you just don't think trans people deserve respect or are too lazy to learn something incredibly simple. because it ain't hurting anyone (Fact) and more options for people to feel comfortable and happy is a good thing (Fact).

Also you're pretty fucking far off the mark if you genuinely think 'woke' games fail. or if you think progressive themes are hurting the industry. That's just not the reality we live in. The only thing that it's hurting is your ego because you don't WANT it to be successful because 'ewww icky girl with a penis, I don't want that'.

Again if you google like "woke games 2024", you ll get stuff like:

Forspoken, xdefiant , Concord, Unknown 9 - awakening, Dragon Age - veilguard, Dustborn, Suicide Squad, ....

Maybe they had other issues, but these were all "branded" as really woke games, that then went on to do poorly.

Yes I legit think, all this stuff inserted into games, are hurting them.

You *might* have the self claimed moral high ground here, because "its a good thing" as you say.... however I think alot of the general public just arn't for it.
And yes, I think its hurting game sales.

Like I think the next Assasins Creed, Shadows.... might also be one of the last of its kinde.
(ubisoft is also doing badly atm, and they went really woke, with the next AC game)

Do you think AC Shadows will go on to sell better than typical? because it now has a gay black character, as one of the 2 playable main characters in the game?

Alternately, "woke" games like Baldurs Gate 3 and Hades were incredibly successful...

Maybe good games are good and bad games are bad?

Or maybe BG3 and Hades where never really woke games? I seriously don't recall anyone having any issues or calling these games woke.

What's your source on Yasuke being gay? Past few Assassin Creed's (Valhalla and Odyssey, Valhalla being their most successful AC ever) had the option of allowing your character to romance anyone, so in that sense, your character is only gay, if you choose to play them as a gay character, this isn't anything new and yet more evidence of a rage-bait grift.

https://thatparkplace.com/ubisoft-appears-to-confirm-assassins-creed-shadows-protagonists-yasuke-and-naoe-are-lgbtq/

“Naoe and Yasuke’s disparate personalities also lead them to have different relationships and rapports with other characters, and they don’t always feel the same way about people, nor do people always feel the same way about them.”

“Romantically, they will also attract and be attracted to different types of people. Through the pair, players will get to experience a multitude of relationships.”

Your right, it looks like its upto the player.

Yeah, nothing new to the AC franchise.

You were once again fooled by these rage-baiters.

....What on earth was 'Woke' about Suicide Squad? I've heard dozens of issues with it and that's a first target. Unless Woke is just something applied to all bad games now.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Baldur's Gate 3 has way more LGBTQ+ representation than any of those games that you listed.

Hade 2 was blasted as being "woke" as well. You must have not been paying attention.

This is how it usually goes, they will blast every single game that even has a slight bit of "LGBTQ+" or a female character that doesn't get their dick hard until they eventually hit a bad one, and that's easy to do when you label every game as woke, I've see attacks on Dead Rising Deluxe, Black Ops 6, Warhammer 2, Hades 2, Indiana Jones, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls Online, etc.

The thing is though, if it's a successful title, in reception to the general consumer via sales or general sentiment, they will quickly move onto the next target, until they get a hit, then once they finally find a hit (I.E. just a plain old bad game) they will use that title to claim that they were right, everyone hates the "woke" and to demand the removal of LGBTQ+ representation.

They can't grift against titles which are actually loved like Baldur's Gate 3, Hades 2, Spider-Man 2, Indiana Jones, Warhammer 2, Dead Rising, etc. The fanbases are too strong to break through and with titles like Black Ops 6, Overwatch 2, etc. No amount of crying about woke will break through its sales so they're wasting their breath there too.

The logic of "all these bad games are woke but these games which do exactly the same shit but were well received aren't woke for...reasons" doesn't work and makes it very obvious they're just tossing out a net as large as they can until they catch some bait to fuel their next 20 YouTube videos. I guarantee you that the general public doesn't even know what the fuck we're all talking about, Lol.

Similar to how you see the online gaming communities ranting about how terrible Call of Duty is, or Fortnite, or Roblox, or -Insert Popular GaaS- or Mobile Titles, etc. Yet they're all the biggest games in the world, the "general consumer" doesn't give a fuck about what we're saying or talking about, the angry gaming forums and angry gamers on Twitter/YouTube do NOT represent the majority.
