Switch king of Japan and the world

Maybe the decrease of sales we saw in PS5 numbers were partially due to people withholding to wait for the Pro. In Japan Playstation is mostly for people who wants high end experience which is a minority I think

We will have to return in January to check if the baseline will be back to over 20-25k again

hmm...i feel there's compelling enough evidence that the price increase is what decreased sales. The exact week price hikes were enforced, sales fell off a cliff. I do expect that over time, sales will return to a little-bit-below-normal figures (b/c consumers like to wait a few months before bending-over-backwards whenever businesses choose to hit them with price hikes).

Second weakest non-remake/remaster launch in the franchise? On NSW? That's no good...is it possible Mario RPG fatigue is finally settling in?

Perhaps they could have spaced it out a bit better over the Switch' lifetime. 3 of them within 12 months is a bit much. Also 2024 has been a super busy jrpg year. There is no lack of options.

Yeah considering there is normally 1 Mario RPG game of some kind each gen, and now this is the third one in 12 months, it's not too shocking if this one doesn't do as well. Just really bad scheduling on Nintendo's part. They should have saved PM:TTYD port for next year.

And yeah expect once the holidays are over for PS5 sales to head back south of 15k. The Pro will help their holiday sales at least though.

Wow, I wasn't aware of that there are 4 Mario & Luigi games on 3DS... I think that most people, who wanted a new game, chose Mario Party Jamboree. There were only 3 weeks in between.

Wooow at ps5 pro sales

Well, we don't know how much the ratio is compared to digital sales, which were pretty much non-existant on the DS and 3DS. It's possible that physical + digital sales taken together would amount to something more akin to Dream Team or even, if unlikely, Partners In Time in terms of sales.

Great figures for Pro; I'm surprised it had a stronger launch than PS4 Pro. Just a shame about the price increase for the base model, because the drops over the next couple of weeks for Pro are going to be high, and the new baseline will continue to be very low.
