Deserved.

The whole "evil megacorp Nintendo" rubbish that gets wheeled out every time someone gets in trouble for pirating or ripping off Nintendo's software is silly; you're not entitled to just do what you want with the property of others and if you do, you deserve the consequences.

He should flee the country, in order to avoid lawsuit, so that he doesn't go to prison and become a forced wife to his cell mate.  He'd be a different kind of pirate then

Though while the dude literally asked for it, it is genuienly very sad to man's bad behavior on something as trivial as an email will leave him with a heavy hole in his wallet (it's not cheap fighting a lawsuit, esp not from a massive corporation like Nintendo). Nintendo makes some great games, though they lack a high degree of sympathy. My hope is this lawsuit will reach an early settlement, granting mercy to EGG, and that EGG may use this situation as a learning opportunity.

They sent several dmca and cease and resists. They tries to get him to stop without any financial penalty. How much more sympathy should they have?

To represent everything you just said in a different manner: Nintendo sent a series of DMCA strikes on his streams (which featured pirated, unreleased content), to which EGG would respond via emailing Nintendo with a ballsy taunt. Nintendo then decides to crush him financially with a lawsuit.

Had he not sent the email, it's very likely there would be no lawsuit; hence, this entire case stems from one dude typing up a stupid email. Making an example of somebody, and thereby threatening their livelihood, all over a single email...how can you not say Nintendo is void of any level of human regard in this instance? You do realize this person's life has potentially been ruined over this? Hundreds of thousands gone due to legal fees (maybe millions if he loses)...that's more than the average American makes over twenty years.

("oh but he also streamed pirated Nintendo games?? That's a good reason for him to have been financially annihilated!! You forgot that part!! :)" yeah no, sorry, that's not a good excuse to ruin somebody's life.)

Like I said above he know the risk for what he was doing, he know the possible consequences (mainly financially) and he continuous doing the wrong thing, because if you know pirate and taunt things like that is wrong, and Nintendo have the right to do this.

In my opinion he have a plan to deal with this, maybe he have money or a people/group behind him have the money, and if this happening he or someone that attends the same group, community or whatever it is will continue with all this, because he or they have sources to get the games.

EGG is gonna become the next Gary Bowser, paying a chunk of his salary to Nintendo for the rest of his life. His email was very clearly an impulsive one, and his behavior reflects somebody who doesn’t know what they’re getting themselves into. I don't think this dude (who proclaims “capitalism is cancer”) with 10 views on Twitch had a masterplan to handle the lawsuit lol, though I’d be happy to be proven wrong.

In any case, we’ll just have to see how everything pans out.
