Jim Ryan said 160.

Interesting that a Japanese company uses English language on their last console. Font even, that somehow withered differently then the other writing (PS2) on the console. And Sony please, you could have kept your last PS2 in better condition surely!

This has already been debunked. Its fake. IF that was true all this 161- 162 million fantasy numbers would be dead wrong. Ryan rounded up to 160 million. No way in hell they produced exactly 160,00 million systems up to march 13, 2013, without announcing that back then but right around the time Nintendo again surpassed their Switch forecast and cracked 140 million. This to me seems like a fairy tale of someone thats afraid of loosing "his" Nr.1 spot. In their last earnings release Sony once more confirmed "more than 155 million". I ask you again: Why not "more than 160 million" if it happened? Answer: Sony cannot afford to lie to their invetors, Ryan is retired and nobody cares for this guy rounding up to the next milestone in a random podcast.

It's interesting to see Switch Userbase as 127 million. That means there is a significant rate for double ownership of 15%

That's not what this means. All it means is that 127 million users (who have a Nintendo account and the console connected to the internet) played at least one game during the past twelve months, but you can't tell how many different consoles this accounts for, because multiple users can have played on the same console. Nintendo cannot obtain such data from consoles that aren't connected to the internet.

Double ownership isn't the only explanation for the difference between users and total amount of consoles sold, because millions of consoles don't get used eventually anymore. Plus the aforementioned possibility of offline consoles.

That's why this particular statistic doesn't tell us all that much, other than interest in Switch remaining high. But we can reach this same conclusion of maintained interest by ongoing hardware and software shipments, and with much higher clarity at that.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

I posted this picture in another thread but i think it will help here too. This is Useful when Comparing Switch to DS. It lets you see all the quarterly and yearly data in one picture.

Very helpful. I think we agree that the Switch will sell the rest of the DS LTD (2,35m+ 0,12m+ 0,03m) this quater alone!🤣

Switch Sports' update is for the last 6 months, but if you halve that it had the second greatest increase of any game not released this quarter, higher than Animal Crossing; they really should bring the bundle worldwide.

The new titles are all doing well. Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is doing very well, and I want to get it at some point. Including the Wii U version, MK8 has sold over 72 million. Who knows if it can beat Wii Sports which hit about 82.9 million, but crazier things have happened, I'm skeptical that Deluxe alone will outsell Wii Sports. I mean the next Mario Kart has to come out eventually, right?

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

It all depends when Switch Up is launching. If it launches March 2025 i could see may- july for MK9. If we where to see it in summer (may- july) i see september- december. But when Switch Up hits stores in late 2025 i cannot see any earlier date than march 2026. The absolute latest i see is May- july 2026 but only if they shoot out Switch Up as late as march 2026. No way in hell its a launch title taking away the attention of other titles, making 3rds complain about worse softwaresales. Also we have to take into account there will be 3D Mario and Smash as well as a Pokémon as well. And we will still have support for the current Switch till 2027...

Adding MK8, MK8 Deluxe and the upcoming MK8 Ultimate will get us there
