Forums - Sony Discussion - Your favourite experience or wow moment with PS5 so far?

I just recently upgraded so I've missed out on a lot. I missed out on the Helldivers train and I now regret not upgrading sooner. I missed out on Destruction All stars and the new game vibe of many of first party the releases and community hype. Missed out on the PSVR 2  and the epic VR communities hype train and so much more.

My question is what's been your favourite wow moment so far with the console? Or have you had any at all.

I gotta say, the haptics in returnal have me going "wow" quite a lot.

Nothing really. Just another derivative console. I stopped using haptics a long time ago since the DS batteries are shit. It's neat I guess that I can hand the controller to my friend remotely online. Closest I came to being wowed I guess are the portals in Rift Apart. PS5 overall tho is just another console.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

The load time.

Looking forward to the load time for the PS6 lol

Haptics in Returnal are insane. At the same time, they remind me I'll have to put the controller to charge again sometime soon haha.

I thought the adaptive triggers were pretty great in games like Rift Apart and the Astro games. Haptic feedback is cool, but not too dissimilar to that of HD Rumble in the Switch joy-cons.

Aside from that, not much else. The inclusion of SSDs are great to finally have on console, but as a primarily PC gamer, it felt like Apple fans going crazy over a new feature that Android users have had for years just continues the trend of consoles becoming more and more like mini PCs just with a proprietary OS.

So how adaptive triggers are utilized in games on PS5, and in specific games (like Returnal) the haptic feedback, has been a really fun experience so far. But god damn does the DualSense need a better battery lol

Yeah, lol. It really sucks the juice but it's worth it. I suppose in a few weeks I'll fold and turn haptics down to low or something to save battery but right now I'm having a blast, especially the triggers which are so, so cool and really adds something special to the way the game feels to play.

Nothing a long USB c cord can't fix, plenty of cheap one on amazon. I have an extention cord hooked up for when I'm stuck but the battery charges really quick, like what... 45 mins and it's back to level 3. Not bad.

Astro's Playroom controls: Too many times to list. Astro's Playroom uses the DualSense better than any game, maybe even Astro Bot.
Spider-Man load times: This goes for most game load times, but playing Spider-Man Remastered and having fast travel borderline instant is a godsend when I don't feel like swinging.

We reap what we sow

Playing RE8 for the first time on PSVR2, truly exceptional experience.

Before PSVR2 I'll chime in with the load times. What a revelation just to be able to start a game without waiting. It makes GT7 so much better on PS5. In fact Sony kept the ps4 and ps5 online separate since it takes 60 to 90 seconds to load the lobby on PS4, some even take longer, near instant on PS5. Races start almost 2 minutes faster on PS5.

And the haptics, Astro's playroom was a delight. And I really need to make time to play Returnal, it's been sitting on my shelf since launch. Maybe it will be even better on Pro?
