Thought I'd help spread the news, I wouldn't have known about this had it not been passively mentioned on Sacred Symbols.
16gb Download on PS5.
Downloading now, if for anything else but to see the graphics and performance on base ps5.

Unable to connect to network. Same error for the last 2 hours. Pity.
I can't believe I doubted them. It doesn't feel 60fps and it doesn't feel 30 but somewhere in between or if it is 30 it's a really good 30 nut what really makes the difference is how it plays, it plays SO much better than World on ps4 and particularly Iceborne on PS4 PRO which I remember being sluggish as hell. It plays somewhere between World and Rise. It's early in the beta for me, perhaps things take a dip when in high stakes situations but right now, this first Monster feels incredibly smooth. Graphics aren't "next gen" but they are mildly impressive, the monsters anyway but mainly because of the physics, animations and movements. I'm wildly impressed very early on although my Insect glance feels different for some reason but perhaps that's from coming off of Sunbreak with really speedy bugs.
The HDR is perfectly tuned with presets and makes the game look so much better than the YouTube previews. The overly sharpened look isn't there on base ps5 and it uses the Duel sense quite a lot and uniquely.
Very good stuff so far and still 4 months from launch.
Last edited by LegitHyperbole - on 29 October 2024Oh this is a winner, it feels SO good to play, right off the bat it's the perfect blend of World and Rise and it's not bad looking either, not great but not bad. Voiced protagonist makes things less awkward and the story set up is actually compelling, slightly weird that the palicos talk though. The open world is so cool and the map is fantadtic, no going drom region to region with a feeling of disconnection of regions within a map. It's only the cutscenes that show some frame pacing issue on the down side. New dialogue options feature. Really sexy blacksmith lady too.
Capcom in top form once again. I just hope it's solvable, I got to used to soloing in Rise that I gave up on Sunbreak because I didn't to SOS or play with NPCs.

Never played a MH. Might get wilds when it comes out
The whirrly gig Bloodborne like weapon looks fun.
I’d still love for Capcom to up their game on the cheesy mocap and writing for this series, but I liked what I played. Wasn’t as big a fan of World as I was with Rise.

Same, I liked Rise way more even though I have 250 hours in worlds and only 80 is Rise. That game felt more fun with all the arcadey pickups and exploration on map. This feels like the perfect balance between the two games in the way they play. Rise is still way more fluid but this isn't nearly as tanky as World was.

You can get in on the beta on the 1st of November. Rise was excellent indeed, my favourite, this strikes the perfect balance between Rise and World bit I'm sad to see the map has no pick up buffs which made Rise so fun to explore and no the routes to take through the maps.
