Yeah, I do. Hell, I bought a fucking Sega Genesis back in 1991. What makes you the expert of SEGA history? Enlighten me. |
I read and stay in touch with the SEGA retro community daily. But you just want to argue. MS had nothing to do with SEGA's exit. It was bad management from SEGA of Japan. 32X from SEGA of America. Saturn's financial misfortunes. Tho it sold well in Japan. SEGA was done before Dreamcast even launched. They were so far in the red SEGA was ready to close its doors. Isao Okawa donated his entire fortune on his deathbed of 694 million dollars to keep SEGA afloat. Had Sony and MS not had the wallet they did from other business you better believe Sony would have considered bowing out in 2008 when they were losing millions on PS3. Xbox lost 1 billion on the original Xbox. Losing that much they might have been another NEC. The quality of games is not why SEGA went out. Bad business decisions and two sides of the same company never getting along. SEGA of Japan and SEGA of America.
Why else do you think you heard the story of 2 consoles in development and one using 3DFX GPU? That was the SOA proposed hardware for what would be the Dreamcast. Did you ever read about the talks of SEGA and Sony in talks for Sony to make Saturn hardware? Did you stay in touch with NAOMI and Atmoswave? Or that VF4 for PS2 is a NAOMI II game? SEGA was founded as Service Games in World War II in the West? Sonic's first appearance in a game as needlemouse? The Saturn Pluto? You ever see a SEGA Megajet? How Adventure Island series exist because of SEGA and Wonderboy license?
