My God what happened with the ps5? Sony shot itself in the foot by increasing the price of the ps5, they will have to go back on this decision and accept losing money on hardware to win on software. This shows how sensitive the price increase is to the consumer. They need to reverse this price urgently

MK8D joins the 6 million club in Japan.

Next week: Zelda EoW will outsell Asstrobot lifetime sales in Japan in just 1 week of sales. Facts.

What about the last 4 years makes you think Sony care? :')

"Software sales generated ¥486 billion ($3.30 billion) in revenue, which was a 20% increase year-on-year"

PS5 software globally is doing good, Sony does not care about Japan in isolation

I think that the PS5 can wave bye-bye to reaching 1.5m for the year in Japan and it is most probable that it ships below 1m in 2025.

Astrobots sales trajectory is quite the anomaly for a Playstation title. I'm really curious what its total including digital are, since week 1 was understocked.

With Monster Hunter Wilds and a pricecut, next year could be flat or might even go up. But every time I expected a pricecut this generation I was instead answered with a price hike!

That's true that Wilds will now release on the PS5 first, even if it does eventually come to Switch 2 when it launches.  May bode well for next years' PS5 sales, but with the new Switch arriving I just don't see any kind of sustainable future for the console in Japan.  But if MHW happens to skip Switch 2 all together, then that will make things interesting for sure.
