Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Best graphics on Gamecube

The Gamecube was the final console where Nintendo aimed to rival the competition graphically, and produced many games that were considered visually stunning for their time.

Which game do you think was the most graphically impressive on the system, and what specifically about it made it the best in your opinion?

I haven't played a lot of Gamecube in my life, but based on my experiences, I would say The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

I just love the cartoon style in this game.

F-Zero: GX still looks fantastic even to this day!

Luigi’s Mansion was literally made to serve as a “graphical demonstration” for how powerful GCN was. MarioKart Double Dash was the best looking MarioKart up until MK8 released a decade later. Windwaker has a timeless art style.

Honorable mention: SMSunshine. Only had a year of development, and yet the game does not reflect it at all in its visuals.

(Matroid?)

Metroid Prime/Prime 2, Twilight Princess, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II & III, Star Fox Adventures and Resident Evil 4.

If I were to pick one it would be Twilight Princess.

Hahaha.

I'm gonna list the usual Zelda's and Metroid Primes. But I remember being most impressed by the fur and the depth of field in Starfox Adventures. That game looked fantastic.

Star Fox Adventures would be my pick.
