Microsoft results come in on January 28, 2010 too.
Ballmer revealed the following at CES:
1) Since Xbox 1 launched, total Xbox-brand games have shipped over 500m+
2) X360 Shipments are at ~39m through December 2009 - up from 33.5m through September 2009. Therefore, Microsoft shipped 5.5m X360s in Oct-Dec 2009.
One Other Note:
I figure with the X360 attach rate at 8.7/system through September 2009 (presumably shipped sw/hw worldwide), X360 has an 8.8 attach rate or so through December. If that is the case: 343m X360 games have been shipped to date, up from 291m through September 2009. A jump to say, 8.9 would put the X360 sw market at ~347m.
Sony's results are coming February 4, 2010 - not sure if that is good or bad. It is a week after Microsoft/Nintendo
Final Edit: Microsoft cited an 8.8 attach rate for X360 through December. I'm working on the assumption that it is worldwide since NPD and other trackers are not cited. If it is just a USA figure from NPD, then X360 sw is at 164m in the USA (18.65 * 8.8), and perhaps 100m-160m elsewhere.
