Is Sonys imagine starting to stain in your view?
With GaaS failures. PRO pricing (Europeans getting screwed by 200 USD before tax). The barren exclusives. Games going to PC, some day one. Etc.

These are some big downs and it's going to get worse before it gets better. Feels like the start of the PS3 All over again but at least that had single player exclusives and good ones at that.
I don't know wheter to buy a ps5 now or head to Xboc and try something new as I haven't played Xbox in over a decade. The brand feels really slimy and dirty in my mind now.

MS are just as bad, especially when it comes to windows.
No, I love them more than ever via PC support.
Not by the latest events. They had a very successful GAAS (Helldivers 2) before the failed one.
And regarding the Pro, there's still the regular version if people find it too expensive.
I just hope the baseline consoles for next generation (Playstation 6, Xbox Next, etc) don't go up significantly in price.
Barren exclusives?
They just released the highest rated game of the year.
Some people are never satisfied...

Not defencing PlayStation brand (although I play only on PC since 2019) but they just do business. It sounds generic but that's it. They release games on PC because they want to get more profit from their software. They try to release some service games because of their common popularity (it worked with HD2 but didn't work with some other titles). Concerning PS5 Pro... I actually predicted that it would turn out to get such price tag (because I thought that they wouldn't lose money on console's price), to have 2TB memory (TBH 1TB is a bit weak in 2024, at least in PC gaming, although I know that some console video games also need a lot of memory) and that it would go without disc drive in bundle (maybe for PC player it isn't a big deal and isn't so shocking).
Both Sony and Microsoft do some arguable decisions as part of their common business. Video gaming is one of their divisions and they money on it.
That's also why Xbox slowly moves to become huge 3-party publisher. Every their step shows where they go. Indiana Jones on PS5, The rumour of Steam coming to Xbox console, the expansion of Xbox subscription. Everything leads to this moment. We may not agree with Microsoft's decision but they focus on earnings and they suppose that they can't earn a lot only with Xbox Series at the moment. It doesn't mean that Xbox console will go away tomorrow (the next Xbox is in development BTW) but their business plan goes this path. I probably wouldn't like this to happen (I had XOne from early 2014 to late 2019) but it somehow happens.
The same with Sony. They also do some decisions to get higher earnings despite some arguable things. However, their plan is different comparing to MS road map. They release games on PC but they don't release them on day one. Has anyone heard about AstroBot's PC version as for today? Consoles are really important for Sony. They want to get more profit but they still want to support console. They released Horizon 2 on PC but released two years later so as to increase PS5's numbers. Therefore I think Sony is really interested in the future of consoles despite doing some strange things. This is why Gran Turismo 7 is unlikely to be on PC (because it's main PlayStation game brand), this is why there are still PSVR2 games in development (read such rumour earlier) and this is why some devs including Bluepoint and SantaMonica develop new IPs.
