I voted C. I am cautiously optimistic. I love Persona's battle system and art style, but loath the dating/relationship/school crap. Hopefully this game is more focused and doesn't have that extra stuff. I couldn't get into Person Tactica because the characters would never STFU. |
It has social links and all that I believe, it's not a proper stray away from that stuff, I can't stomach it either but the setting here and there being no school should definitely help. I would say it's still JRPG, goofy and immature but more akin to something like Tales of Arise where you can let that slide cause of the setting and hopefully the characters, as with that game, will be strong enough to overcome any cringe. Anyway, it's the games core systems that are the highlight here, I'm willing to put up with cringe for really good combat and RPG systems but I suppose it's up to how much of it you can let slide off the shoulder, I certainly can't do Persona games anymore, I've only played P5 and got through it cause it was novel and the core game and systems are dopamine feul, started P4 and ten hours in the cast is still cringe as fuck. I know from the previews that, that is being sidestepped with Metaphor to a large degree.
Can you stomach the JRPG'sness of FF7 remake or the Tales games? I think that's in or around the level of it we're looking at.
