Hopefully we get a hardware split for weeks 32 and 33 in the next few days, weeks 32 and 33 each average out at 63.6k for Switch and 23.4k for PS5.

Good couple weeks for the Switch and man the gap between 2024 and 2019 for it could be outright minuscule next week. If it has another 60k week it'll just barely surpass it that one time and the possibility that happens is higher now and feels like a coin flip at this point.

[Weekly software and hardware sales] "PowerPro 2024-2025" tops the charts for the fourth consecutive week! New action RPG "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" also makes it into the top 10 [August 5th to August 18th]

Sales ranking announced by Famitsu. This time we bring you a summary of estimated weekly sales figures for game software and hardware from August 5 to August 18, 2024.

The Nintendo Switch version of Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 sold 32,372 units. The cumulative number of units sold was also recorded at 255,991, making it the top seller for four consecutive weeks. The third update was released on August 22, 2024. Adjustments to the game balance of each mode and bug fixes were implemented.

Coming in at number 4 on its first appearance was the action RPG That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tempest Stories, based on the currently airing TV anime. In addition to being able to enjoy a completely new original story supervised by the original author, the fact that newly drawn characters also make an appearance has become a hot topic, and the game is showing strong sales.

On the other hand, looking at hardware, the Nintendo Switch is still going strong, with a total of 127,197 units sold during the same period. The PlayStation 5 is also steadily increasing in sales, and there is a high possibility that cumulative sales will exceed 6 million units by August 2024.

Is getting a little better for Nintendo this last weeks, at least in Japan, they just need to continue that trend until they can reveal the new console, but is interesting the sales of PS5 has slow down a bit, i thought it will hold the numbers.

Switch software swept the top 10 with Switch Sports and Momotaro making a really good showing this week. Switch hardware made some real gains on the 2019 YTD. Switch basically has one last week to try to catch 2019, before 2019 sales go into turbo mode.

Switch outsells PS5 nearly 3:1. To think that at one point there was serious discussion over which would sell more this year.

Series S has fallen off to almost zero; guess people are grabbing the X before the price hike.
