Pi, are you telling me that birthday parties do NOT fall under the FB definition as "events that ignore social distancing guidelines are considered harmful misinformation and will be taken down."

There is no easier way for FB to "take down" a birthday party than to deny sending the invite, composed on FB, to the intended FB members!

In fact, there is nothing else they could have done, otherwise, to take it down.

Birthday parties do not fall under that definition.

"harmful misinformation" being the key phrase there.

The article you shared specifically talks about what that means:

"Facebook has already reportedly removed content for some anti-quarantine protests planned in California, New Jersey and Nebraska. The social media giant reportedly allowed protests planned in other states to remain because the events didn't violate local orders or organizers called for drive-thru protests that are in line with social distancing recommendations, according to The Washington Post."

This also happened 8 months before your birthday party

Except there are easier ways. They could have removed the event option entirely.

The article isn't talking about "not sending invites", it's talking about them removing the event entirely.

Apparently lived experiences don't matter and are unimportant... or at least when the word of the day is Bias.

They don't matter in any kind of broader sense. If you think that is some kind of gotcha, then I think you had a very poor scientific/mathematic education; because this is basic stuff.

There's a reason why studies get repeated. There's a reason why studies require large sample sizes. There's a reason why people often do double blind studies. There's a reason why randomness is important for polling. There's a million different things that get done to remove errors and different biases.

Random one-off incidents that have 100 different possible causes, are not even worth talking about without more information.

It's legitimately terrifying to me that neither of you two seem to understand how difficult it is to get to the truth of different matters.

Locked: Attempted assassination on Trump

pg4 (10 per) is a doozy. More than a few gems in that thread.

Terrifying

Oh ok, you did find something worse than everything put forth so far. On the rankings of arguments we have:

1. Studies and stats

2. Anecdotal evidence

3. Vaguely gesturing at something and then a meme.

Like I said 100 pages ago, liberals do not connect with middle America. And so much not trusting betting firms. So much for not trusting polls.

It appears many of the smart people in this thread aren't as smart as they think.

The results disappoint, but do not surprised me. Liberals have no clue what middle America is like.

This. x1000!

I find it interesting I couldn't post in this thread without being dogpiled by a dozen people ensuring me I don't know what I'm talking.  They sure are quiet this morning and I hear nothing but crickets.

I immediately thought of this recent video after reading your posts. What can happen when politics and intelligence/education/IQ collide?

Political bias is a hell of a drug.

I am confused here.

Are we really suggesting that social media has a liberal bias? In 2024?! Lol.

I called out the leftist bias on twitter, and there was evidence of that too. For example, shadow banning and limiting reach in addition to suppressing stories on twitter.

But it’s 2024, and the right wishes they were as biased as Dorsey was lol. What’s happening on the social media platforms right now is 1000x worse, and it’s all right wing bias, it’s disgusting.

If you can’t see this, you’re just a hypocrite who never cared about free speech or biases to begin with.
