Monster hunter wilds looks a gen ahead of monster hunter world. so much for soundwave theory just looking at the game it will be probably even be demanding for ps5.

The pre-rendered cutscenes maybe, in game it still doesn't look like anything special. It's going to be on Switch 2, the current ROG Ally can run considerably better looking games than that, arguably even Steam Deck. If that's what passes for a "generational leap" these days it's pretty sad.

At least though MH Wilds will sell, average graphics and all, unlike things like Senua's Saga which is bombing and that Avatar game that underperformed, and Alan Wake 2 that's still struggling to break even and all these Final Fantasy games that have underperformed. Looks like the "I read Digital Foundry" crowd is pretty much the definition of a niche of a niche of a niche, these "graphics enthusiasts" don't move the needle in the modern market at all.

The trailer had the ps5 version not even holding 30fps lol you just have no idea how things work.

PS4 version of Witcher 3 has frame drops so does DOOM Eternal so does Fortnite so does Cities Skylines ... didn't stop any of those games from coming to the Switch 1, which is a harder gap to cross IMO.

You realize this is a business right before it is anything else? Not like a hobby-ist club for frame rate enthusiasts? Those nerds are like 0.0000001% of the market. The Monster Hunter audience on the Switch is 8+ million buyers. Do the math here.

I know it's a busniess but Capcom didn't bring world to switch keep that in mind. Not saying it won't happen but it's 50/50.

They had a deal with Sony to keep it off the Switch (they also paid to keep if off PC for longer), so they made Rise instead, that won't be the case this time. The odds are a lot higher than 50/50.

Unfortunately for Sony their BS tactics don't really work anymore as no one wants to do exclusive deals like that anymore. They took advantage of a period when Nintendo was weak coming off the Wii U and the 3DS sputtering out, not the case today.

The list goes On though resident evil remake 4, almost every technically demanding game on ps4 didn't mak it  to switch.

Because it will be on Switch 2, but Monster Hunter is a completely different story to begin with, RE4 doesn't sell 8 million on any single platform anywhere. MH Rise sold 8 million on Switch alone, the same as World on PS4.

Resident Evil 5 and 6 didn't make it to the Wii. Once Nintendo made a console that could handle them (and had an player base that would buy the games), they were on the Switch, along with Okami HD, Onimusha HD, and anything it could handle.

Nintendo will soon release a more powerful console. Watch it get REmakes 2-4 at the very least. I'm not 100 percent certain it will get Wilds, but I'd bet on Yes before No. MH is a more global IP than it's ever been in the past, but the base is still in Japan and on handhelds.

Well see I see no sign of it targetting switch 2 when the ps5 trailer can't even hold 30fps.

If they're running it at very high resolution like 4K, that wouldn't exactly be much of a shocker. It's also probably 1+ year out from release, it could easily be a case of the engine presently being unoptimized. We know it will be on XBox Series S already too so the engine can clearly scale.

The best looking thing about this game is the animation of the animals, but that's a product of artists, not anything technical, most studios don't care how animal characters in their game move like beyond a certain point.
