Feels like I'm choosing between a bunch of my favorite candies haha.

I'm not able to pinpoint a year yet but to me, 2017,2023,1994 feels like worthy contenders.

1997.
4 games from my Top30. The most if sorting by a year.

Diablo
Quake II
Dungeon Keeper
Total Annihilation

1995 was insane come to think of it; Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 2, Chrono Trigger, Panzer Dragoon, Descent, Mega Man 7 and X3, Terranigma, Rayman, Killer Instinct, Earthbound...

There were enough "Other" votes to trigger a runoff. Three years made the cut to this second round of voting and they are joined by two more.

Official voting for the runoff will end Saturday, January 6 at 11:59 PM, EST.

2007 is one of the lamest and the most overrated years ever. 2022 is better.

The best is 1998 by a country mile and not even just the stuff listed. A ton of stuff on Saturn Japan and PS1 were fucking amazing.

The last of the run-offs eh?

Still obviously 1998, for reasons I already wrote.

I'm suprised 2001 got that many votes when even just the runner-up is a game that nobody ever really talks about, even if it laid the groundwork for modern GTA. Of course I think Melee and MGS2 were the best of that year, but even they aren't enough to make it that amazing a year.

2017 seems to be the only of my favorites that also is a popular pick.

2001 started lots of remarkable series: Halo, Max Payne, PES, Animal Crossing, Ace Attorney, Burnout, Devil May Cry, Jak and Daxter...

I like this shortlist! Those would probably be my top 5 favorite years, with 1994 replacing 1996.

Gotta go with 1998. So many stone-cold classics from that year.

So if there is no 1997, then obviously 1998.
MM6, Half-life, Fallout 2, Starcraft, RE2, Grim Fandango, Unreal, Baldur's Gate etc etc. Another ultimately great year.
