Yeah the screen thing is kinda derailing the topic a bit which is supposed to be about the hardware's graphical performance.

I wont mind in exploiting the thread title to expand the discussion on every hardware component, including the screen

To answer the new poll question, Switch 2 is very much on point.

For a $450 hybrid device, being able to outperform PS4 and get solid ports of current gen only games is more than satisfactory.

Throw in support for stuff like 120fps, 4K, and raytracing, and it's overall a very good piece of kit.

Obviously it's not a high end enthusiast device, but that's to be expected given it's a mass market product.

Its almost 2 generation behind (the other two) in terms of power, is another way of seeing things.

Also Raytracing? on a Switch2? So far no game has used it (afaik).
I don't think the Switch 2 has enough horse power to really make use of something so demanding, for so little returns in visual impact.
So while technically it might be able to do so, likely very few if any games will ever use it on the switch2.

This is simply untrue. PS4 is one generation behind and Switch 2 is more capable than the PS4. "Two generations behind" is PS3/360, even Switch 1 was more capable than that.

And Switch 2 isn't even 2 months into what's likely to be an 8+ year lifespan, it's far too early to make that second claim. The hardware supports raytracing. We already have a game announced that uses mandatory raytracing (Star Wars Outlaws) How it will be used it up over the remainder of the system's life is up to developers and the vast majority of devs haven't even had the chance to release anything yet.

Actually, considering Switch 2 is a 10th gen system and its below 9th gen console hardware level... Hes not wrong on that

Grouping Nintendo with PS/Xbox in this way no longer makes any logical sense when their generational transitions have been on different timelines for nearly a decade now. Sony and Microsoft's "10th gen" consoles do not exist yet.

Handheld consoles also cannot be as powerful as contemporaneous dedicated consoles due to the very laws of physics; Switch 2 is as powerful as can reasonably be asked for in a $450 portable device.

I dont follow this reasoning, despite Switch releasing while there were no 9th gen consoles from Sony and MS, it doesnt change the fact that it was succeding their 8th gen systems (WiiU, 3DS). A few years without their gen counterparts wont invalidate its next gen status as we saw other examples in previous generations.

And PS6 announcement is somewhat close and its clear they will follow the same pattern to chase for more powerful specs. Althought, it is not a concern for me because I wholeheartedly agree with your last paragraph. Handheld experience is way superior to give a damn about the power discrepance, especially now with diminishing returns

There's no console in existence right now that's two gens ahead of Switch 2, therefore it's not two gens behind anything currently.

When PS6/Nextbox arrive it will be, but that probably won't be for years.

Well, I said "On Point" for the new poll, but, honestly, I can see one making a case for that on "High Tech" at this price point. I have access to a phenomenal 4090 PC with 190+ gigs of RAM, and even then I placed Cyberpunk on the S2, with all the compromises it got, and I could not believe my eyes, since:

1. it is launch title, for crying out loud, and runs incredibly well at 40 FPS;

2. seriously, how is not everybody drooling on how quietly and cool it runs Cyberpunk in handhled? Incredible work they put in there. Battery life is not good, but it also was not in the Vanilla S1, so that was to be expected, but it doesn't prevent you from getting a full 2 hours of CP2077 before you have to charge it, and it plays very well while charging out of the dock as well;

3. I spent 0 (that's right, ZERO) seconds setting the game up, as even with the hundreds of possibilities for the game on PC, I still have to sit down and decied if I go tracing this or that, a time that I'd rather spend gaming.

Money very well spent and a great move from Nintendo and CDPRed to get it out on launch day, as I would not have gotten this impressed with MKWorld alone. Not at all.
