Eiji Aonuma will end up working for Sony in about 2 years.

Why would he do that?

Also, am I the only one who wanted it to be animated instead of live action?

Humor points insufficient

Then explain.

It just boggles the mind to think Nintendo is now okay to [partly] share one of their IP’s rights (albeit only in cinema) with Sony.

If anything collaborating with Legendary Pictures would make more sense because of Detective Pikachu.

The studio isn’t really important. The team of directors, writers, etc, is what matters. So keep in mind “The writer is the guy who wrote Jurassic World and Great Detective Pikachu”.

Watch the show Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix, would give a much better result in that style in my humble point of view.
