Personally you wouldn't catch me with a non-Asus motherboard these days.
Their software engineers are simply better.

For both AMD and Intel?  I'm leaning toward AMD and will check out Asus

I've been Asus for my motherboards for years now.

Last non-Asus board I bought was the Gigabyte 990FX UD7 and it had serious vdroop issues, which Gigabyte never fixed.

So I would rather a stable and quality platform that gets supported... And I feel Asus delivers on that more than other vendors.

Last MSI board I had would have been in the socket 370 days... And that ended up failing due to poor quality caps, not sure how they stack up these days.

I've only ever used MSI MBs and they been great for me.

Even had one of my old computers on for 13 months without a reboot lol.

I used to get AMD CPUs, but then intel took over and I haven't rally had a new desktop since Windows XP. Been mainly on Laptops which have been Intel. However with desktop I would probably go the AMD again if I ever built one.

Thoughts on Asus AMD Ryzen RoG strix B650-F?

On sale today for $240.  I about to grab it.

Wow modern mobos are pretty expensive. When I was building last time in late 2014 I chose to go miniITX and paid 85 euro for a good MSI mobo and that was a premium for miniITX., standard ATX mobos were 40 to 60. 240? get outta here

Did Asus fix their issues with the 7800X3D, specifically? I can't remember having seen a solution yet. There were issues with over-voltage, leading to fried CPUs and MB socket.

I discovered ASRock with my last major upgrade, and unless they worsen horribly, I could stay with them also for next upgrade, for example they offer pro features like ECC memory support also in mid-range models. Installing Win 7 was tricky (with a better prepared install DVD it would have been easier), but for Win 10 and 11 no tricky procedures required. Crossing fingers it works smoothly.
Anyhow my experirence is limited to AMD, IDK if their Intel mobos are as good. I'm gonna stick with AMD, savings on CPU allow me to spend a little more on other things while remaining within mid/low-range costs.

The B650 Taichi Lite is probably the best considering the price. Asus boards may catch on fire, be warned. Tons of their boards come with broken pins too.
