Forums - PC Discussion - PC Brethren, Show Me The POWAH (Summer 2023 Edition)

In need of an update, I don't game as much as I used to (Lack of time and prefer to spend my free time on forums anyway) and refuse to play the GPU pricing game.
My hardware is:

* Ryzen 9 5950X.
* Asus TUF X570-PRO WIFI
* 128GB DDR4 3600.
* 2Tb Samsung 980Pro.
* 4x 20TB Western Digital External HDD.
* LG 32" 1440P - 144hz.
* Radeon 6600XT

My next upgrades will be a Ryzen 9 7950X and 192GB DDR5 Ram. - Plus a new cooler, case and PSU, dragging the 6600XT forwards kicking and screaming.

*********

Laptop. - Acer Nitro.
* Intel i5 11400H.
* 64GB DDR4 3600.
* Geforce RTX 3060 6GB.
* 144hz 1080P IPS.
* 2Tb Samsung 980Pro.

All these built within the past 2 years.. built my daughter's PC recently into an MATX form factor on rocketlake, but I think I'm done for a while. 40 series currently don't interest me as much and now I'm addicted to small desktops. It's a wait and see if any interesting sub 175mm GPU makes it to market.

Dude, are you a giant or something?. The door in the room looks incredibly small compared to the TV and chairs, like holy hell.

Mine is close to 6 years old but it was high end when I got it so performance is still ok. The 1080 Ti and 7700K are starting to show their age though so the urge to upgrade has been growing lately. I wish the GPU market wasn't so bad right now since that is causing some reluctance.

Same with my build. Still rocking my 1080ti (with one less fan atm) and my OC'd i7-6700k, though I do wanna upgrade my ram this year, as well as adding some new fans.

If the GPU market wasn't so bad right now, I would have grabbed a 4080.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

Stopped upgrading my PC not long after the PS4 come out.
Was gonna build a new one last year but decided against it. Apart from the nerd in me tingling when I get new PC stuff I don't see the point. No game in my opinion takes advantage of the hardware enough for me to even bother.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

They are attic doors - they are tiny by design (compared to actual doors) lol.

lol - I love when people react to my attic doors

Sadly my PC has no POWAH:

It was a budget build I did in 2015, that is well below the minimum requirements for games now, and is becoming too slow even for general use like web browsing. It has:

  • Gen 4 i3 CPU
  • GTX 950 GPU
  • 8 GB of DDR3
  • 1 TB 7200 RPM hard drive

Weaksauce by modern standards. I've been wanting to do a new build for awhile now, the problem is coming up with the money to do it, as it will cost me around $900 to $1000 to get respectable specs. I want to do something like:

  • CPU- Somewhere in the performance neighborhood of i5 12400F, i5 13400F, or Ryzen 7 5700x (would be nice to do an RX 7XXX CPU instead of 5700x, but the AM5 motherboards are quite alot more expensive for those)
  • RAM- 32 GB of DDR4
  • GPU- Somewhere in the performance neighborhood of RX 6650 XT, GTX 3060, ARC A770 16 GB, GTX 4060, and RX 7600.
  • Storage- 1 TB PCIe gen 3 or gen 4 SSD plus a reuse of my old 1TB 7200 RPM drive for storage of non-gaming things
  • Modular power supply for better cable management
  • Nice new case that is quieter than my old one

Pretty pricey for me, no idea when I will be able to come up with the money to do it.
