A.l.e.x. seriously, the EDIT button, use it! The system is dead, no new games are going to come out for it and its game library stinks! So why should anyone care? If you want homebrew you can do it on any other system. The Gizmondo does not do anything unique that warrants praising a dead system.

Ahh HA! So you can make sense, but choose not to most of the time uh? Anyway,  Mr. alex, I find it kinda wacko that, if I remember correctly, you've had your fair share of doggin Sony's PS3 and at one point I believe you hinted that Sony was in trouble with the PS3 and it could possiblly be a failure... However, you seem to really feel the Gizmondo, that's pretty much known as the mother of all sucky gaming devices and the picuture child for gaming failure, is not a failure at all as most people would believe. Uhmm, very baffling.

Actually, I never bashed the Playstation 3. All I did was make a thread, discussing why the Playstation 3 wasn't selling as much as its competitors. I may have criticised its popularity, but that was probably the most. So you're wrong. Please stop making assumptions.

http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=1812

Also, I made another thread, complimenting the Playstation 3.

http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=2105

As you can see, in the first thread, I discussed the failire appeal of the Playstation 3. Okay, the Playstation 3 isn't popular. However, in the second thread, I discussed the marvel of technology it had. So, the Playstation 3 could be a failure in being a popular system, but not a failure in the hardware it uses. Your thread proved nothing.

It would be "wacko" if I bashed the Playstation 3, and complimented the Gizmondo, because the Playstation 3 is a lot more popular than the Gizmondo. However, that is not the case. I criticised both the Playstation 3, and Gizmondo, for not being popular, but complimented both, for their hardware.

Is the Gizmondo my favorite portable? Absolutely not. Do I like it? Absolutely yes!

Is it better than the Gameboy Advance? YES!!! Why? Because it can play all Gameboy Advance games!!! Can the Gameboy Advance emulate other consoles? NO!!! Can the Gizmondo go multiplayer with the Gameboy Advance games? YES!!! Through bluetooth!!! Is it more comfortable to hold the Gizmondo, than the Gameboy Advance? YES!!! Is the Gizmondo more popular than the Gameboy Advance? NO!!! Does the Gameboy Advance suck? Definitely not! Is the Gizmondo a failure in terms of popularity? Absolutely!

I only created this thread to discuss the "good" things about the Gizmondo. I could care less about it. I was more interested in making this thread, that explains the "good" things about the Gizmondo, than playing the Gizmondo myself. Does that mean the Gizmondo sucks? No, becaus I don't play my Playstation Portable, or Nintendo DS that much either.

Do the games suck on the Gizmondo? A lot of them do. Are there many games for it? Definitely not. Does it have any good games? Yes it does. Will there be more "Gizmondo" games? Yes, through homebrew!

Aww. It looks like a.l.e.x. gave up on defending the Gizmondo. Too bad. On a lighter note, I just reached 400 posts.

Hold on... Just because I was gone for one days means nothing. I am not defending the Gizmondo, I am defending my thread. I could care less for the Gizmondo. I only care about the fact that the Gizmondo, like every other portable, or console, has its strengths and weaknesses. To consider the entire portable a failure is wrong, because it only failed in popularity. I could care less about the Nintendo DS, and Playstation Portable too. Why? Why should I? I never created them. But if someone says that they both suck, because they're not popular, I will state the facts, because they are both popular. Well... More so with the Nintendo DS. Anyways, I know that the Gizmondo was a complete failure with sales, but for what it can do, its a marvel of technology. Do I care? No. Then why am I stating all of these compliments? Well, they aren't really compliments, because they are facts. The Gizmondo is a marvel of technology, and everyone else, besides me, has played the Gizmondo. If you haven't played it, don't bash it.

I may have bashed the Playstation 3 before, because I didn't know any better. I guess you could say, I changed my mind. Why? Because the Playstation 3 is the cheapest Blu-Ray Player on the market. All consoles are good in their own ways, even the "failures." And boy, are there a lot of failures!

The N-Gage has its strengths, the Zodiac has its strengths, the Microvision has its strengths, and even the Gizmondo has its strengths.

To conclude, stop bashing the lower class consoles. Until you create a superior console, or played the "failure" consoles, you cannot judge. Even if you do create a superior console, respect the other ones. Just because another console, or portable may be superior, doesn't mean that the other one is bad. And even if it is, all consoles, and portables should be respected for what they are. And that is a fact.

See, I don't want to ruin his Gizmondo fun by all of us convincing him the Gizmondo was a complete failure...but he insisted on calling it a success, which doesn't make sense.

If you were to say that the Gizmondo was a success, I would have to disagree with you, because the Gizmondo was not a success, because I'm sorry, but 10,000 units, or whatever, sold, is not a success, but...

AN

UTTER

FAILURE

when compared to other consoles. Then again, 10,000 units is still kind of impressive. That's a lot of consoles. I mean, nowhere near the Nintendo DS. Then again, I guess that means less people can fully enjoy the technology that the Gizmondo has to offer. And if you isolate the Gizmondo from the other crowd, and compare the Gizmondo with a rock, then you will see that the Gizmondo is still a powerful system. And that is a fact.

By the way, I haven't played a single Gizmondo game yet. Also, I am not finding it fun to play. But, I am also not finding the Playstation Portable fun. But that's probably just me. However, I know my facts, and I know that the Gizmondo, and all of the other portables, are quite fun to play.

No, it would not make sense to call the Gizmondo a success. BECAUSE IT ISN'T! But (yes, there is always a but), it's a marvel of technology.

That is the only point I wanted to make! If you FULLY read all of my posts, you may have understood that. But no, everyone had to make their assumptions, and sorry to say, but most of these arguments haven't been very strong at all. More bashing, without facts to back them up.

Most gamers don't even know what it is, it's name also sounds more pathetic then "Wii" first sounded, Gizmondo sounds like and is a joke. I'm sure if you asked the company that made it (that went bankrupt like you said) if the Gizmondo was a failure or not, I'm sure they'll give you the obvious answer. Therefore it is a failure. But I'd still like one :)

Looks like it would have been a cool system, just horrible management, wreckless people spending money wreckless, think how cool it could have been if they would have taken all the millions they were taking form the company.and.get this

Used that money for advertising and marketing!!!! Looks like the company had a crappy partnership.

PS I agree with artofangels......What the hell kind of name is Gizmondo???Maybe 2 years ago we heard of it, but didnt think twice because it didnt have the word game in it, call it Helion Game system or something other than Gizmondo..........I betcha they had a choice on Names Gizmondo, and Whatchamacallit, he crashed his car and called it Gizmondo instead, (head injury)

You know im just teasing, the looked like it had potenti I agree.

It is a cool system. Everything outside the hardware is meaningless, except for the fact that it has no games, and the fact that it was expensive at the time. Who cares about how it was made, only care for what it is. Who cares about the company that developed it, only care for what they created.

Okay, maybe the name sucks, but then again, maybe it means something in another language. Maybe it's someone's name, though I couldn't imagine who would have a name like that, but, then again, I've herd far worse names before. For example, the Wii? Even Xbox 360 doesn't make any sense (Xbox Circle???). And what about the Game boy??? I am not playing a boy!! When you think of it, almost all console, and handheld, names don't make much sense. Especially, the Mega Duck. Now that is just weird. But hey, who cares about the name. All a name is, is a sequence of a bunch of letters. That is it. It has no impact on the hardware, or the games.

I am not defending the Gizmondo. I am just stating the fact. The only point I want to make across is, who cares if the handheld, or console, failed, because even though it did not succeed, there is still a lot of enjoyment to be had with it, and its power, usually rivals, or surpasses, the more successful handheld, or console, which is one of the main reasons why it failed, because more power means a higher price, which usually spells disaster, depending on how high the price is, or was.

The Gizmondo failed because it was too powerful, which lead to a higher price. Now that they are much cheaper, that power could be enjoyed.

And why is everyone so angry? Arguments are never meant to be angry. At all. I can change my mind very easily, depending on the facts, I recieve, in arguments. But in this case, all I have been reading was repetitive answers, of things I already knew about, and were even mentioned in my posts. Why is everyone telling me what I already know? And why are the main facts being ignored? I know the Gizmondo was a failre, but it succeded in the hardware, and hardware only.

By the way, if you want to comment to this thread, you may want to do so soon, because I will be shifting all attention to the Nokia N-Gage, another commercial failure. After I buy one, I'll make a Nokia N-Gage thread, and point out its strengths and weaknesses too.

I made the Playstation 3 appear better, as well as the Gizmondo, or at least I tried to, so I will soon be focusing my attention on the Nokia N-Gage.

I never realised how many failures there are.

lol, the CEO went to jail for carrying a gun :P among other things. Umm, yeah, u said earlier that this system wouldnt have been a failure if nintendo made it... most likely because it wouldve come with more than 35 games? :P You can like the Gizmondo, but it was a failure despite what you think. You may have enjoyed playing it, sure, but that doesnt make it a success.

I know it's a failure. I mentioned that myself so many times. Okay, it was a failure. Almost every single console, or portable, or video game out there, is a failure. But, all of them can be enjoyed!

Wow, that's alot of typing just for Gizmondo.

I liked the story of suspect mob connections with the company.

How does everyone know what a Gizmondo is?

If price for a portable system didn't matter, then the Xbox 360 Portable would be a million seller, and stealing the PSP's market

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
