Looks like it would have been a cool system, just horrible management, wreckless people spending money wreckless, think how cool it could have been if they would have taken all the millions they were taking form the company.and.get this Used that money for advertising and marketing!!!! Looks like the company had a crappy partnership. PS I agree with artofangels......What the hell kind of name is Gizmondo???Maybe 2 years ago we heard of it, but didnt think twice because it didnt have the word game in it, call it Helion Game system or something other than Gizmondo..........I betcha they had a choice on Names Gizmondo, and Whatchamacallit, he crashed his car and called it Gizmondo instead, (head injury) You know im just teasing, the looked like it had potenti I agree. |
It is a cool system. Everything outside the hardware is meaningless, except for the fact that it has no games, and the fact that it was expensive at the time. Who cares about how it was made, only care for what it is. Who cares about the company that developed it, only care for what they created.
Okay, maybe the name sucks, but then again, maybe it means something in another language. Maybe it's someone's name, though I couldn't imagine who would have a name like that, but, then again, I've herd far worse names before. For example, the Wii? Even Xbox 360 doesn't make any sense (Xbox Circle???). And what about the Game boy??? I am not playing a boy!! When you think of it, almost all console, and handheld, names don't make much sense. Especially, the Mega Duck. Now that is just weird. But hey, who cares about the name. All a name is, is a sequence of a bunch of letters. That is it. It has no impact on the hardware, or the games.
I am not defending the Gizmondo. I am just stating the fact. The only point I want to make across is, who cares if the handheld, or console, failed, because even though it did not succeed, there is still a lot of enjoyment to be had with it, and its power, usually rivals, or surpasses, the more successful handheld, or console, which is one of the main reasons why it failed, because more power means a higher price, which usually spells disaster, depending on how high the price is, or was.
The Gizmondo failed because it was too powerful, which lead to a higher price. Now that they are much cheaper, that power could be enjoyed.
And why is everyone so angry? Arguments are never meant to be angry. At all. I can change my mind very easily, depending on the facts, I recieve, in arguments. But in this case, all I have been reading was repetitive answers, of things I already knew about, and were even mentioned in my posts. Why is everyone telling me what I already know? And why are the main facts being ignored? I know the Gizmondo was a failre, but it succeded in the hardware, and hardware only.
By the way, if you want to comment to this thread, you may want to do so soon, because I will be shifting all attention to the Nokia N-Gage, another commercial failure. After I buy one, I'll make a Nokia N-Gage thread, and point out its strengths and weaknesses too.
I made the Playstation 3 appear better, as well as the Gizmondo, or at least I tried to, so I will soon be focusing my attention on the Nokia N-Gage.
I never realised how many failures there are.
