I have no clue that offer was outta my ass but when I joined the site at the end of the PS3/360 gen, it was pretty big and the forums were chaotic. The community was active af so I just assumed that some millionaire investor probably wanted to buy it.

My 300iq assumption turned out right though since CGI technically confirmed it

think about what data for 20k users and ad revenue for 5m hits was worth back in 2008

about threefiddy

now that i'm back, prolly more.

Probably enough money to be around for nearly 20 years.

Not enough to care about the site, apparently

VGChartz doesn't care about its user-base. Their site has been successfully attacked multiple times, and they refuse to hire anyone to fix their coding. Everyone's information here has been leaked at some point because of it. Thanks VG. Where's the sarcastic thumbs up emoji?

About tree fiddy.

Not enough. Its why Brett (IOI) hasn't been working on this in ages. Websites like this really don't pay much on a CPM basis, making it hard to make an income from. I imagine its why he was able to partner with me and a few other guys to do FADE over a decade ago. Unless you're buying or paying for subscriptions, a niche website like this won't make enough money to truly sustain improving the site/product I think.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I used to be obsessed with this site back in 06-09 (and yes my original account was lost lol).

When it was hopping was back when they release weekly software charts. When that went away the sites appeal fell off significantly.

But ya this was a hot place back in those times. I have fond memories of NPD release nights and finding out how close the VGC estimates were to NPD

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
