I was going to mention this, but it's 21st century, and I must abide by the rules! Could've mentioned the original I suppose, as that has all the mechanics that THPS2 improved upon, but I find it a bit difficult to go back to it now. It feels a bit stiff and more unforgiving in comparison.

The NES, Master System, SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive are filled with games that still holds up. Thats why many indie developers are releasing games inspired by those systems games today.

Right you are it seems. I take back my comment and endorse your choice of THPS2. As playable today as it was at release.
