When they said "The next is our last and will be 20 minutes" I was totally expecting for it to be Break In and had to scream "NOOOOO!!!", happy it wasn't the case lol.

It was a very good show. I'm very happy for Firesprite, they finally announced their game and they can be part of an already established franchise. Personally I think that if Intergalactic releases before November next year Laufey can also release next year. We will know in September.

So either Break In or Kena this Friday at Dorito's show.

Where the heck is the new gameplay for intergalactic? Otherwise really good exclusive line up showing. The big shift back to single player games and little to no live service is a massive W.

Showing a new Santa Monica and a new Naughty Dog in the same event would not be wise.

Intergalactic needs its own special moment like God of War Laufey just got. That makes another event automatically great.

Where's the shift? 

All these games that have been revealed would be in the works for years. Meaning they got greenlit around the same time as Sony's live service strategy. Anything coming out for the rest of the PS5 gen would be under Jim Ryan's watch. 

I'm already seeing a bunch of theories fly about God of War: Laufey.

Santa Monica can go in so many directions with this. Seeing some of the Greek Gods make an appearance would be crazy. Not to mention we can jump again lol. I can already see how this game can lay the groundwork for the GoW trilogy remake.

Pretty much exactly, funny that the first thing they showed was a jump, and then a double jump right after, it was deliberate saying "jump is back folks" lol.

This is definitely tied with the trilogy remake development, indeed, this combat is much, much closer to that than the Norse games.

About theories.

We did not get to see a Greek god there, but I do hope they are there, imagine if Zeus pops up when you are there lol. Also, this game start at the same time the 2018 game does, so we should also be seeing the Norse gods we kill as Kratos appear there in real time as well lol.

This game ending is 100% tying back to the end of Ragnarok/Valhalla, this is a game definitely moving the main story foward.

First, Cory told to the Ragnarok director that Atreus must have left Kratos side by the end of Ragnarok. Second, Laufey talks both about a second mask affecting Atreus journey in Midgard (Ragnarok and beyond), and that she has a promisse to keep to Kratos about "finding her way home", both things they made sure to present in this reveal as a first thing to build a base.

I dunno if Laufey will end up in the world of the living again for good, I actually hope not, because if so this probably means the franchise is ending, at least with Kratos, as he would not go risking his life around the world after becoming a family guy again. If it does happen, as that would be great for Kratos, at least I hope GoW Laufey only lays the path for it, but that we can still have at least 2 games or so with Kratos before it actually happens.

Anyway, I just rewatched it with more attention, so I wanted to add a bit more, and everything about it looks so good.

I want to see more Egyptian gods and hope they have the most screentime and/or importance in this game, as now I don't think we will see Kratos going back to Egypt anymore (he went there for some time between the Greek and Norse sagas), so we can at least focus on there now.

We just saw two gods of war from different regions and Shekmet was definitely way more respected there. So it really may have stronger ties with Egypt over the others. Shekmet is also clearly Laufey's nemesis there.

Anubis better appear and be a badass in this game, he is the one tied to death, maybe he is even the one rulling the Everywhen itself lol.

I dunno how Ra would be there, but as someone who grew up with Yu-Gi-Oh! I would be really sad if Ra doesn't appear in GoW here or at some point.

So after sleeping on it.

Wolverine is possibly the strongest they’ve ever started a SoP. Game looks so brutally over the top that I couldn’t help by just smile all the way through. Insomniac have been one of my favourite studios since the PS3 days and that doesn’t look like it’s ever gonna change. 

Middle of the show was the standard SoP slowdown, a lot of stuff I’m not interested in and far too long on fluff like Kemuri that I simply do not care about. I love the look of the character model for TR: Legacy of Atlantis. Control 2 releasing in September is .. crazy but it’s £49.99 so. 

Until Dawn 2 … I actually enjoyed the first game, looking forward to this. Then we end with the new God of War. It looks super fantastical. Day 1 for me. Gotta love Frank.

Overall I’d rate it a 7.5/10. One of the best SoPs just far to much filler in the middle.

I feel like Sony has to be way more careful with Intergalactic than with Laufey.

Yes there's already people complaining because the main character in Laufey is a woman etc, etc but it's God of War at the end of the day, they just need to make a trailer teasing Faye meeting the Greek Gods to sell the game.

Intergalactic on the other hand is a new IP, the most expensive ND game yet and because Sony had the great idea of revealing the game in a show that most people watch to hate the first impression was kind of a disaster. When they decide to show Intergalactic gameplay, Intergalactic has to be THE THING of the show, in this show it would have been #3 after Wolverine and Laufey. That's why September always made the most sense and now even more.
