Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

Also, there is around 1.5M weekly active users missing from the split of the 5 platforms for GTA Online, which sums up to only around 8.4M of the reported 9.9M average.

So are those not actual average numbers but just one single week, maybe the last one inputed? That would be within their 6.9M to 15.4M min to max active users difference.

If so, that has a lot of room to platform splits to change and PC in special be a lot higher in some weeks.

There are no other platforms to take in consideration, are there? PS3 and 360 support for the online was ceased for years now.

This GTA data is very different from other data (official from what I recall) I read somewhere showing PC being much closer to Playstation in player engagement. But it covered a different period.

PC numbers here are shockingly low. Xbox numbers are excellent and show that the platform is far from dead. Xbox One's relative player retention in the US may be even better than PS4's, but it's at the expense of weaker Series X/S adoption vs PS5.

PS4 has nearly double the average player count than the XBO, which match global instalbase, but those on XBO spend more than those on PS4.

My guess is, based on how high spending is on PS5, that most of the playerbase willing to spend on it was also willing to upgrade to the PS5, so that's why it's so high there and comparatedly lower on PS4, the split is clear from people willing to spend less just staying in the PS4 too.

Player retention is slightly better on Xbox One. Big spender retention is much better on Xbox One, although yes this mostly means that there is less excitement among Xbox gamers to upgrade.

Interestingly though, Xbox spending per customer is higher on both consoles than Playstation. Live service games remain huge on Xbox.

Incredibly late to this convo but Silent Hill f is making me very happy. After so many years of either trying to copy SH2 and failing with post SH4 storylines or straight up remaking SH2, a new, distinct entry sticking the landing is great.

I have some issues with it and I am probably a bit over the halfway point, so plenty of time for it to fall apart. Fingers crossed.

Sony just announced an animated Bloodborne movie.

Movie having games to come alongside them is no news, maybe we are getting something related to Bloodborne in the gaming space too.

We know Bluepoint pitched an Bloodborne remake and was denied by FromSoftware.
We also know one of the 2 games Bluepoint pitched, one being Bloodborne, was denied because someone else was working on it.

Are we getting a Bloodborne updated version by FromSoftware?

Xbox still has a very strong core online multiplayer userbase. Single player story driven games seem to not do so well.

Pretty sure the report was that another Sony studio was working on the title they pitched. So highly doubtful it is Bloodborne by FromSoftware. I only see this happening if Nixxies is involved (and the report is to be believed).

Well, we are getting the movie, and we know FromSoftware denied Bluepoint remaking Bloodborne for some reason, which Sony choose to agree with, even when they didn't have to.

A movie doesn't necessarily mean a game is coming too, but if it is happening, like it does many times, a Bloodborne related project by FromSoftware is the most likely scenario.
