Sony announced a Marathon Dualsense after the trailers today.

So yeah, those last 3 dualsenses definitely where not Marathon themed lol.

Marathon right now is the #10 most sold game on steam. The other 9 are mostly f2p games and 4 paid games (arc, fifa, kingdom 2 and the classic simulator of the moment).

Those charts fluctuate constantly but good for the Bungie devs.

It's definitely a strong start for Marathon.

The open beta weekend will still do most of the heavy lifting, but it feels like the sentiment for the game has done a complete 180 since its initial alpha test. This can still hit big if everything goes right for Bungie.

This year is shaping up to be pivotal for Sony's live service push.

Marathon, GoY Legends, Marvel Tokon, and MLB The Show Mobile can find varying levels of success.

Haha of course they weren't. Just individuals trying to drum up negativity for Marathon (Sony doesn't want to market or be involved with Marathon etc etc).

But they're still cool colours that weirdly fit Marathon.

I'm sure it was genuine speculation.

The actual Marathon Dual Shock is maybe the best I've seen! They done well there

Like I've said previously, Bungie's name alone will carry the game initially. That's the key word though. Initially. Those pre-ordering, such as myself lol, are going to be the Bungie and extraction shooter diehards.

Doesn't mean anything in regards to the games longevity. It's great to see the initial interest. It truly felt like a completely different game from the last closed beta. There's still gonna be an open beta before launch. So it will be crucial that it's widely praised if the game wants to have a chance to succeed in the long term. Because with Arc Raiders, players really haven't left the game still lol, so Marathon can't afford to have negative word of mouth with the open beta.

Marathon will actually be releasing at a good time to take advantage as Arc Raiders has very recently started experiencing a lot of players now using cheats and exploits.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

The last trailers for Marathon were also a lot better, so maybe not only the diehards are preordering it.
I don't care for that kind of game, but if I did I might have as well, liked latest stuff I saw.

Edit: wait, it's not getting a physical release? Ew.

Bungie's name won't carry the game long term but at least people are giving it a chance, that alone is good news lol.

It would suck if 6+ projects from different developers are judged equally just because of Concord.
Btw in my country the $60 ver is #3 in pre-orders and the $40 is #10 in the PS Store.
