Marathon is going to flop hard, there is no interest in the game anywhere, nothing about it ever made it appeal in an unique way to get people interested.

Destiny 3 better be ready before 2028 because Bungie is headed for disaster.

After the reveal it got 400k+ wishlists on Steam and the number has actually grown little by little with no new anything (other than controversies LOL), the last closed test had 80k players. I'm not saying that is going to be Helldivers 2 all over gain but frankly I can see the game moving more units than what the game that must not be named did lol. There's also the X factor that is the chinese community. Destiny is quite popular in China, the chinese community are leaking the gameplay from the closed tests and some of those videos have millions of views. There's things left to be decided.

Now that doesn't mean that Bungie won't be affected if Marathon doesn't flop next year, either because Marathon won't sell millions over millions or because Destiny 2 is done done before time, the chances of people being fired are very high. If next year Sony decides to fire 200 people from Bungie or maybe even half no one should be surprised, the half left will have to be enough to develop Destiny 3 and the rebuilding will start from there. I don't like to talk like that about layoffs because I like to put developers over everything else included the players but if I was working at Bungie right now after all that has happened I would be ready or getting ready for that day.

Layoffs are always sad to see, specially when companies are doing very well and there is no monetary justification aside from greed for bigger profits to please investors, but when a company/product is massively underperforming it is either that or full closure, specially after they spent so much money to acquire it, you can't keep throwing money away or things only get worse.

I don't think Marathon will do well even with the Destiny crowd, which has already decreased a lot itself, Destiny 3 feels like the only hope, and even that has zero guarantees to do well either.

Right now Bungie needs to do what they can to please the community that once showed interest on their games, I don't think taking any kind of risk is sensible, they should stick with what once worked and make sure to focus to build as much goodwill as possible.

Hard to tell what Sony will do with Bungie, But with such a large HC, I can see them wanting them to pump out FPS on a regular basis, and that is achievable if Bungie breaks down into smaller teams to achieve that.

I finished Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice Chronicles.

If anyone's still on the edge whether to buy this - whether as a fan of FF who never played any other version or a returning player such as myself who played the PS1 version (and have the iOS version of WoTL) - this is easily the best version of FFT and its worth every cent - I paid for the Digital Deluxe edition.

So anybody know the deal with the PS Store and targeted pricing?

During BF and CM, if I was generally browsing on the PS Store online, I'd see the sale prices, but then if I logged on to make the purchase, the prices would change or deals would completely disappear.
Like for example, God of War Ragnarok Deluxe Edition was on for $39.99, but once I logged in, it was $49.99.
Another was PS Plus. Premium and Extra both had discounts, yet after logging in, only Premium had a discount.

Considering I've been a Plus sub since 2013, this seems really strange to me. Isn't that supposed to get you better deals?
SNY's business practices are getting way out of hand if this isn't some error.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

They were testing dynamic pricing so I guess it's finally there?

If so, it's ridiculously gross if the price goes up for as much as 1 single person out there, and I hope it can be met with legal action in some countries.

No idea, only thing I can think of is that the store before you logged in was not the same region as your actual PSN store.

2 things though:

1. PSN sub doesn't automatically give you better deals. It never has. Certain items get better discounts but that's not across the board for all games on discount.

2. PS+ subs having discounts was dependant on region and whether you were already subbed. Weirdly this year there was no rhyme or reason for this. I got essential while on sub for 20% off.

As for the situation with pricing, I imagine it really was an error. i don't see anyone reporting this issue and I would imagine it would've been big news if it had occured. Sucks though.

God daaaaaaaaaamn! Nixxes are continuing to be wizards in PC development. I don't think I've ever seen such a dramatic drop in install size!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Don't know who has played Lumines Arise, but it's top 5 GOTY for me! What an experience this game is. It's hard to even call it a game, tbh! 20 years ago, playing Lumines on my PSP, I never would've imagined that the franchise would go to this kind of a high lol. Makes me wanna get a VR headset just to get the full experience.

Don't know why anything would change as to region. I was on the Canadian PS Store and my account is North American. No different than any other time in the past, and I've never had this occur before.

I've been on some other forums since I last posted and there are other people who've been experiencing this since BF started. Funny you mention Plus Essential for 20% off, because that's one of the things people were complaining about. Some people had it offered to them, while others didn't. I certainly didn't, and I'm on Essential right now and have been all but for 1 year of Extra, which was the first year it was offered. I've always had deals offered on Plus for every tier, typically multiple times a year, but not this time.

Doesn't really make any sense to me, because I'm certainly more on the cheaper side, so why would they jack the prices up or remove the deals entirely? I'm not the type of person to just go, "oh well, now that I'm in the process, I guess I'll just pay the higher prices." Maybe SNY's price targeting AI needs a lot more work? If anything all it's done is tick me off. I didn't buy any of the games I was going to because of this, and I was seriously thinking about upgrading to Extra again with the discount, but now I'm probably just going to stick with Essential, unless another worthy deal pops up that I can actually purchase.

I could understand SNY trying to score a few more bucks off those that splurge to some degree, in whatever manner, but in this case it's nonsense. Not that I find it acceptable in anyway. I'm with those that stand against this type of practice. The price or deal should be what it is for everyone equally (per Country/region). The only time I'd find it acceptable is if it were something like a perk that comes with your Plus tier sub.

I'm actually starting to worry a bit about PS6. I figured there's no way SNY goes PS triple again, or worse, but the closer we get, the more I wonder.

Canadian Price for God of War Ragnarok Deluxe Edition was 49.99 during the sale. it was 39.99 on the US store. So I can only imagine it was glitch, but historical pricing shows it was never 39.99 for the USA during BF.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either. No idea how it was offered to some people. I won't lie that I am happy I got the deal cause I have no interest in being any tier by Essential.
