Speaking of Killzone, one pipe dream of mine is that Killzone Shadowfall finally gets a native PS5 version, and holding off playing it will pay off for me in the end lol.

Levels 3-4 are fun. Rest of the game....oof. Esp last few. Frustrating is not the word.

I read a post in another forum about Bungie getting to use the Killzone IP and I find it a fun idea.

Didn't ever care about Halo or Killzone, but the guys that made Halo getting to work with Killzone should be good.

I'm always a little hesitant to hand off a dormant IP to a studio that does not want it. Its a completely different story if Bungie wants to do it though.

Pretty sure they are not, because they wanted to stay independant, so working on someone's else IP probably wasn't ever in their plans.

That being said, if Destiny is dying and Marathon is born dead, why not?

Killzone is an in-house IP (Sony) that is likely not getting new games as Guerilla moved to a way more succesful franchise, so they have decent interest head start, can keep making games similar with what they are used to work with, and get back on their feet and later pitch another new IP in the future.

I would say Destiny is still a much stronger IP than Killzone. I would be surprised if Sony lets it become dormant after Marathon.

The upcoming Destiny Rising has now surpassed over 10M registered players. A console port/support for that could be very lucrative as Bungie begins preproduction on Destiny 3.

Been playing some post game on DMC5 SE on PS5.

Playing through LDK on main story and then human, devil hunter and LDK on Vergil's playthrough.

Reached Mission 5.

Might take a break and start on Metal Gear Solid V.

Edit: Oh and played a bit of Driveclub over the weekend too

My 7 year old niece has been playing and enjoying Ys Origin (with unc's guidance), gameplay, music, story and everything. She quickly grew into a skilled gamer but she struggles with full 3D games that use both analog sticks. She and her sister finished Astro Bot and Metroid Dread (with their dad's help/guidance) before this. Decent resume!

Man... I fucking love Ys Origin. In my gaming heaven there is an entire popular genre of similar games with higher budgets, better level designs, and richer visuals. It's unique in how it feels and controls, the camera angle, the 2D X 3D mishmash, I love it. Why aren't there more games like this outside Ys? I saw some recommendations but none of them are similar enough! At this rate my attachment to Ys Origin may one day rival Svennoj X VR and Bralod X LoD.

Bonus: The soundtrack is so good. Genesis Beyond the Beginning, Water Prison, Silent Desert, Scars of the Divine Wing, and Memory of Solomon don't stop playing inside my head! HELP ME!!!

Ys Origin is my favorite in the series.

I've played

Ys Origin (PC): 91
Ys I+II Chronicles+ (PC)
Ys: The Oath in Felghana (PC)
Ys: Ark of Napishtim (PC)

Gonna re-play Ys Origin for PS4 since its been over 10 years since I last played it

Gonna play Ys 7 on Steam in the future too.

If they decide to revive Killzone I would expect for the project to be protected because it's one of Hermen babies. Bungie has good developers, I dig the idea.

I would change the Destiny is dying to -> Destiny 2 is dying. Destiny 2 is too big for new people to be attracted and veterans are tired of how the game was managed. That said whenever Destiny 3 is released the game will sell. Destiny Rising just hit 10 million pre-registrations and yes there is a lot of factors like the game being free, NetEase being behind it, it's a mobile game, etc but the interest for more Destiny and most important NEW Destiny is there.

And finally I wonder what percentage of the people who are working at Bungie still want to be independent after the last 2 years lol. Half the company is gone, the CEO isn't doing shit for his people, the terrible reception of Marathon, devs saying they always advocated for Marathon to include more pve but the directors didn't listen. At this point I bet a lot of people at Bungie are pleased with the fact that Bungie is in their way to be a PS Studio and with "people" I mean the developers who actually make the games, not the CEO and his friends, those guys should be afraid because their time should be close to end.

Weekly update

Still playing through Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition (post game)

Playing through Legendary Dark Knight mode on main story and then Human, Devil Hunter and LDK mode on Vergil.

Also played a bit of Driveclub.

Next game I plan to play on Playstation will be Metal Gear Solid V (both Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain)

I know what I want from Sony: a Minecraft Dungeon clone using the Astro Bot IP and aesthetic.

That is all.

A lot of PlayStation hardware "leaks" these days, either people need the views/clicks or AMD has no security LOL. I don't care about specs before oficial announcements but one thing that I actually like is that these leaks call the handheld a "PS6 handheld", all the rumors I read before talked about the device running ps4/ps5 and never about ps6 games, sure it could have been implied but Sony can give bad surprises so I was/am preparing for the worst lol.

These leaks talk about the PS6 handheld working like a SteamDeck and releasing after the standard PS6 so in the hypothetical scenario were this is real and they release two devices in the span of one year is going to be interesting what happens if the handheld for whatever reason is more popular than the standard.
