Forums - Sony - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

My kid loves Astro's Playroom. Hoping for a good sale on Astrobot in the next few months.

To be fair, they loved Playroom n PS4. i still hope that and Playroom VR get PS5 updates. And then Rescue Mission as well (though as a hybrid play title since I ain't getting PSVR2 for a long time, but having the game for my kid to play would be great).

FFS I can't see why Sony would also not go up to $80 games as soon as with Yotei or at the least with the first new game still not announced as Yotei pre orders start tomorrow.

Which means R$ 400 for a game here ($80 is R$ 500 for Nintendo, but that's only them greedlords), I know I'm not paying near that, but that means I'll need to wait a decent time to buy games I'm really hyped for too (already wait for all other games).

Gaming is becoming prohibitive once again.

So yeah, I was right, even as Yotei is still $70 it was already bumped to R$ 400 here, Death Stranding 2 is R$ but Yotei is R$ 400. It starts with Yotei as expected.

Fuck you all, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony.

Honestly facts, delay next gen consoles until that twat is out of office.

Tariffs aside, I wonder if there's even a point in waiting?

AFAIK, TSMC isn't too keen on cutting the price for mature nodes anymore. So the bill of materials will remain unchanged, give or take a year, and it could even get more expensive if other components see significant inflation.

Maybe it could make people more confident that they'll buy a long-lasting product and thus pay more for it, but I don't know if any company would wait if hardware sales are falling too much.

Pre ordered Yōtei for £66, getting real close to that £70, close to becoming a patient gamer 😬

Out of curiosity went to the BR store and yeah it looks like yours is different but there's actually two interesting situations here.

-Based in what google says R$400 are $70 so PS was adjusting the prices in Brazil to make the games cheaper.

-In other territories the price didn't change for Yotei, not even in weaker territories like Japan that is famous to receive increases constantly from PS.

I'm not telling you to not complain btw, it's just interesting that Brazil changed and most others didn't.

Our store isn't localized so we have to pay prices in dollars. Yotei, DS and DOOM have the same price before and after taxes and the price is the same since the start of the generation. Of course I always wait for the Amazon preorders because usually Amazon gives better prices than the store and physical is a plus.

If anyone wants to buy a PS5 you might want to do so ASAP. With Xbox prices going up due to "market conditions" I wouldn't be surprised if Sony does the same.

Yep, its inevitable unfortunately.

As Sony is a greed company like any other, I'm 100% sure they will adopt the $80 for their games very soon, so my guess is that Brazil was the first place, as Nintendo is already screwing us up massively (Mario Kart World is 500, not 400) and people still buy it (lots of Nintendo fans that defend anything around here), plus Xbox is nearly irrelevant here and announced massive increases one day before the Yotei preorders, they took the chance to pass their increase as well.

You could argue the situation is similar in many other countries, yet they did not see a price increase, and you would be right to do so.

But as I expected, it happened here anyway, and I did so because I know around here a chance like that is not missed, I know it well. They saw a chance to charge more, they'll do it instanly, that's how every single business works around here.

Playstation Brasil didn't even comunicate this price increase, they are still not even promoting Yotei preorders in their Blog or social medias, some sites did it for them, because they don't want to have to say anything about it, they know what they are doing.

$80 is inevitable since two of the three big companies are going to be using that.

Sony's 100% going to follow.

It really sucks but at the least I can see myself not buying games for a long time since its gonna take longer for them to go on sale at a price I want it.

(So I guess I'll be saving money).

But I'm sure I'll fork out the full cost for certain games like GTA6 but very likely many.

I'm personally hoping that there will be enough pushback that $80 will not actually become the standard for most games going forward. Sure some of the biggest, most anticipated titles like GTA and Mario Kart can get away with it, but such a price point for most games will hopefully upset enough people that it would actually hurt sales more than help them. I guess we'll see.

Honestly, the change to higher prices doesn't affect me so much. I only buy games on sale to begin with. This just means the possibility that I have to wait a bit longer.

But I can wait. This is one reason I subscribe to PS+, for alternate gaming while I wait for the games I want to buy to go on sale.
