Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Nation |OT| Playing Astro Bot on the Horizon Until Dawn

No time to even try the demo but Relink always looked visually gorgeous and good thing it's finally coming out!

I hope the combat is fun with a decent mix of strategy and skill in it. But man... my head just can't take all the screaming! I appreciate these 1-2 second long little cutscenes which slow down the action, but it feels a bit chaotic for my perception, and I think everyone yelling and talking is the reason (well at least it doesn't seem as bad as Tales of Arise). Please respect my ears and give me an option to tone that down or just silence the party members that I'm not directly controlling. Small options like this make huge changes to my enjoyment.

I've been playing Ghost of Tsushima these last couple of weeks and I have to say that this game is just incredible. I love it so much. Just did this quest for some demon bow and damn, just didn't expect the journey it would take you on.

So how is the game, I've never really looked at any gameplay or trailers of it.

Is it a action hack and slash type of game or like a Souls game (lite version of it)?

Kinda an action hack-and-slash. Just doesn't come with a combo meter or some shit.

More hack n slash with a slice of Assassins Creed in it (assassination kills, sneaking around) Strong emphasis on parrying and dodging (though on normal difficulty and lower I imagine these are non-issues).

The general flow of combat and exploration is good, though it's not really a souls-like (or lite).

I would say that on harder difficults it go more to the "souls" side than Hack and Slash, not because of the mechanics (they really aren't similar) but more that you will want to do 1-1 duels more than be against a mob (because they can truly anihilate you).

So how long do first party games take to come to Ps+ Extra? I was looking to play SM2 sometime this year and was going to replay the first, first but was surprised to not see SM Remastered on there.

I don't think it will go before 2y on the market after their experience with HFW.

There's not really a regular schedule. Most games are on there within 2 years. But there are some missing ones like Spider-Man Miles Morales and Remastered are both not on there.

They're asking with regards to Spider-Man Remastered that came out in 2020.

IT's such a weird thing to see a 'sleeper hit' be a game that sold like 9 million copies. It got mid-tier reviews but EVERYONE I know who plays it is in love with it. I think the Ps4 version got like a 9.3 user rating on Metacritic and I agree with that a lot more than the 83 critic score...but I also agree with the critic score.

Why? Well, I agree with the criticism. I think it's a lot of busy work, it's a lot of empty, open space, and I do think it's a touch too long. but you know what? The combat, the story, and the world building is all so damn good I don't care. IT's an amazing game from top to bottom and it gets more and more involving the longer you go. A truly great game. I hear there's some STRONG rumours of a sequel and while I'm not convinced it's necessary, I'm totally down for it.

IT's...hard to say. I wouldn't call it souls-like at all but it is an action adventure game with a heavy emphasis on combat. I know it doesn't SOUND Flattering but it's got a lot of Assassin's Creed DNA in there...if Assassin's Creed ever grew balls and went for a samurai/ninja setting. It's KINDA like that but unique enough to not be a deterrent if you're not a fan of Assassin's Creed. the combat, for example, is FAR better than any Assassin's Creed. Weighty and rewarding, but still satisfying and challenging in equal measure, which is Probably why you thought it was souls-like even though it's not that similar.
