This video nails it

A perfect illustration of this right now is the Surgeon General confirmation hearing for Casey Means.

She is auditioning for the role despite having completed no residency and not having an active physician's license. She's basically a glorified wellness influencer who runs a company selling woo-woo with her brother. Dr. Nick from The Simpsons would be more qualified than her.

On an unrelated note, measles is spreading in the U.S. at a rate not seen in many years.

Around the Network

Tommy Ten Names (real name: Stephen Yaxley-Lennon), an anti-Muslim activist in the U.K., was hosted by the State Department.

So Ted Sarandos, Netflix CEO, went to DC to meet with Trump. Trump has been threatening Netflix over Susan Rice.

And now Netflix has abandoned its bid to take over WBD, leaving Paramount Skydance, run by Larry Ellison through his son David, wide open to acquire WBD. I'm guessing Trump told Sarandos there is no way in hell he will approve a Netflix/WBD merger.

Puke. The Ellisons will turn DC comics into MAGA propaganda, and the next Barbie movie will probably star Sydney Sweeney as a Barbie who embraces patriarchy, LOL.

Also, the Paramount deal was heavily financed by the Saudi Public Investment Fund. Tencent was involved, too, until regulators started crying foul about a Chinese company having a stake in an American company. I wish they'd get half as excited about Prince Bone Saw as they do about the Chinese.

It seems to get worse by the day. Now, CNN, CBS, and Fox News would be friendlier to this administration. PBS and NPR are gutted. What else is left?

ABC and NBC Universal/Comcast, who were also purported to be interested in WB, but Comcast doesn't have the same financial resources as Netflix or Larry Ellison.

ABC is the leader in primetime news, followed by NBC. CBS under Bari Weiss and Tony Dokoupil is a very distant third, pulling in ratings similar to Fox "News" (which is the leader in cable news).

In America-adjacent news, Hannah Spencer of the Greens won a by-election in the Gorton and Denton constituency. Reform UK came in second, while Labour finished third.

The president of peace, everybody.

Someone get this man his Nobel prize, already.

For those who want more information about it and why it's interesting that Reform didn't win despite a strong lead in the polls:

He's definitely pissed off.

He's also threatening to not only continue the tariffs, in defiance of the court, but he wants to throw another 10 percent on top of them.

I don't get it. Even if you LIKE his policies and for some reason are deluded enough to believe he's good at business, how can anyone want someone so insecure and childish in such a position of power? How can anyone trust someone so prone to tantrums?

Because fuck the libs. They're so focused on making life worse for people they hate that they will willingly listen to Kid Rock. That should tell you all you need to know about that movement.
