Just read an article about Venezuela's air defense systems and why almost nothing happened (I believe one US helicopter was hit but even that didn't get destroyed). It's obvious that even the best systems of smaller militaries couldn't handle the full force of an attack from so many ships, planes and helicopters because that will be many more rockets as those systems have to shoot back but pretty much everything Venezuela had didn't work anymore since a year or more and almost none of their few jets worked anymore.

So much about Russia helping Venezuela to defend itself. I wonder how awesome the capabilities of other Russian partners are. Or how Russia's own capabilities even are. Their were already scared of some Wagner troops driving to Moscow after all...

Neither Russia nor China wanted any part of this because they have their own missions they want to accomplish.  If anything this just opens up more aggression by all the big players since there is nothing the US can stand on with their aggression.  If the UN denounce the invasion the US will just say go F yourself which will also give the green light to more players to do the same since the US has the biggest stick out there.  If you ask me, Russia and China are probably quite happy with the events that took place in Venezuela.

Tim Walz just dropped out of the Minnesota governors' race, which happens this year. Mike Lindell is the likely Republican candidate. I can't blame him. The Somali daycare thing (which was being handled by the Minnesota and federal authorities long before Kirk wannabe Nick Shirley showed up wanting to film other peoples' kids) was probably the last straw in two years of him and his family being punching bags for MAGA. I saw how the Republican political machine completely destroyed David Walters, Oklahoma's second-to-last governor, which ushered in a governor who kicked off the mess Oklahoma has now by gutting unions in Oklahoma.

MAGA has been on a concerted mission to take over Minnesota.

Stochastic terrorism (and physical terrorism, with the shootings of the Hortmanns and Hoffmans) won again.

Medvedev is, he's already fantasizing about doing the same with Germany and Kanzler Merz. 

But still, Russia did act as best buddy, they even agreed in October to work even closer together in many areas so I doubt Russia is happy that their future plans with Venezuela just ended now and I also doubt that those countries using mostly Russian systems are happy because they look weaker as well now. Most systems didn't work anymore which will be the case in other countries as well and those which did work just sucked. 

And if I wasn't clear, I'm 100% against what USA did especially for the real reason to get on oil and not to catch Maduro. 

On the plus side, Europe should look at yet another sign of Russian weakness and feel emboldened to stand up to MAGA, since MAGA's standard threat against Europe is "good luck defending yourself against Russia without us."

Yet another sad day for America because of a joke of an administration that wants America to be a sad place for anyone who isn't a cishet white male billionaire.

To simply repeat what I said over on Era, no administration in American history has done more damage to America itself than the Trump administration. Trump is a man who doesn't believe in governance. Like all other Republicans, he believes state power, as it pertains to economic policy, exists solely to benefit the capitalist class, and that anything that benefits the general public must therefore be eliminated. They don't believe in government services, because that doesn't help the bottom line of the publicly-traded corporations that fund their election campaigns. Everything must exist to generate a profit.

Also, they believe any media that doesn't explicitly toe the GOP party line is the enemy. They have been at odds with NPR and PBS since their inceptions precisely because it's not biased towards them, which as far as they're concerned means it's biased against them. And they clearly just hate education in general, because they want a population of easily-duped suckers incapable of rational or critical thought. They are after all a political party that lives at odds with physical reality and thinks most of science and history are part of some evil communist plot... or at least they expect their base to believe that. Everything from creationism to anti-vaxxers to Lost Causers demonstrates quite well how much they hate facts. Also, Sesame Street taught not just the ABC's and 123's but also, horror of horrors, kindness and empathy, which is apparently considered "woke" these days. They want PBS replaced by Prager U.

We've recovered from other presidencies before, but given the current political climate it's hard to imagine much of what he's destroyed getting fully restored in our lifetimes. Even when the Dems eventually retake power (assuming we still have free and fair elections), any attempt to restore things back to the state they were will probably just be met with more obstructionism from the GOP, and the Democrats will be too cowardly to go nuclear and abolish the filibuster and make everything amenable to being passed by a simple majority. I suppose the budget reconciliation process could be used to make these things passable by a simple majority, but the moment the GOP regains power they'll just overturn everything the Democrats passed. Because the GOP is fueled by pure spite and a desire to destroy the few things that actually make America a semi-decent place to live.

They're not just in it to make money. They're in it to hurt people. Because fascists are always actively malicious in everything they do.

Adding to what you said about the GOP's jaundiced view on PBS, they're also attacking Wikipedia by claiming that it has a liberal bias. That's the whole idea behind Musk's Grokipedia. Surprisingly, Grok and Grokipedia don't look radically different from Wikipedia (for now) aside from the omission of certain facts that are not a good look for Musk or MAGA, because Grokipedia heavily scrapes from Wikipedia.

In more Minnesota news, ICE is crying because a fancy Hilton hotel won't let them stay there on the taxpayer dime. I love this for them. I'm sure there's a roach motel or two that can accomodate them, or they can sleep in their vehicles. 

Doesn't many of the programs and projects not started up in the first place by white cis males?  If non white non cis non males want those programs and many projets to continue why they don't pay they themself for it?  Why should white cis males have to force to pay for it? Let's just say it like it is even non whites don't want to pay for it. 

Its like the free pubilc transport program promises in NY.  It is nice to say but someone has to pay it and so far I know they are still not free in NY. (correct me if I am wrong)
