Donald Trump is a complete psychopath. Whining about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize multiple times on the same day he authorized bombing another country's nuclear sites without provocation.

Among many other things this is a proliferation nightmare. The lesson learned will be never negotiate with the United States.

  • Don't bother with NPT.
  • Get nukes ASAP.

That's the other two messages.

According to CNN, the US told Iran that this is a "one and done" strike. Clearly trying to avoid retaliation and hoping Iran just accepts it. Maybe they do if they really have emptied the facilities out before the strike, if America has just bombed 3 empty facilities then Iran probably gains more by not retaliating and just moving their shit elsewhere but then again, Iran needs to show strength to maintain the regime.

Iran official says Fordow ‘evacuated, has not suffered irreversible damage’

Mahdi Mohammadi, an adviser to Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, says Iran had been anticipating the US attack on Fordow. “The site has long been evacuated and has not suffered any irreversible damage in the attack,” Mohammadi wrote in a social media post.

“Two things are certain: First, knowledge cannot be bombed, and second, the gambler will lose this time.”

Yep, Iran now has every reason to actually pursue a Nuclear bomb.

And even if Iran doesn't strike back at US military sites, factions in Yemen, Iraq and others will.

Trump thanks Netanyahu

The US president says he and the Israeli prime minister worked as a team.

“I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu,” he said.

“We worked as a team, like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we’ve gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel. I want to thank the Israeli military for the wonderful job they’ve done.”

America Israel first.

Prominent adviser to Iran’s supreme leader says it “must launch missile strikes” on US Navy ships

A prominent adviser to Iran’s supreme leader has called for missile strikes on US Navy ships and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil shipping route.

“Following America’s attack on the Fordow nuclear installation, it is now our turn,” warned Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of the hardline Kayhan newspaper, a well-known conservative voice who has previously identified himself as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s “representative.”

A Telegram message from Kayhan quoted Shariatmadari as saying: “Without hesitation or delay, as a first step we must launch missile strikes on the American naval fleet based in Bahrain and simultaneously close the Strait of Hormuz to American, British, German, and French shipping.”

The message ended with a quote from the Quran, which read: “Kill them wherever you shall overtake (find) them.”

There has been no official response yet from Supreme Leader Khamenei to the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

This was published before US bombed Iran, just confirms how on point Chris Hedges is:

B-2 bombers have been shipped. Bombing will likely start this weekend (prolly today, maybe tomorrow). Iran War incoming.

what did i say. This was one if the most predictable outcomes of all time. (Supposedly, U.S. saved the bombing for the weekend to avoid stock market jitters.) I even got the exact hour correct: 8pm. That’s when they did the first strike a couple weeks ago.

After watching the video, my favorite military minded plushie says that while the site could have been hit, that destroying it would require a sustained bombardment by using guided bombs (assuming that these were on target anyway, not jammed).  If you can't destroy it, then why even bother with the whole thing?  It will only cause problems, this should be an all or nothing kind of thing.

Yeah and Iran has said they've already emptied the facilities anyway, now Iran could be lying but it would have made sense to empty the facilities when America has been talking about attacking these facilities for weeks now. So what has been achieved? I agree that if you were to make an attack like this (and to be clear, I'm completely against this) but if you were to do it, then actually destroy the nuclear materials, otherwise, what was the point? You've done nothing except a PR strike and only pushed Iran further away from ever de-arming nuclear.

But maybe that was the point and they just want an excuse to raze Iran to the ground. Iran could end up having more restraint than America if the damage isn't that significant. Seems like Iran is for now just focused on Israel (new bombings last night) but they're likely assessing the damage. We'll have to wait and see if Iran actually attacks US military bases. But I could see an increase in terrorist attacks either way, no matter if Iran directly retaliates or not. It also shows negotiations with America are pointless and pushes even more countries to nukes.

agree with all of that, especially that this will push proliferation
