After watching the video, my favorite military minded plushie says that while the site could have been hit, that destroying it would require a sustained bombardment by using guided bombs (assuming that these were on target anyway, not jammed). If you can't destroy it, then why even bother with the whole thing? It will only cause problems, this should be an all or nothing kind of thing.
