At least it wasn't a dog interrupting the conference, Kristi would have shot it.

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski, reacting to Senator Padilla being handcuffed and forcibly removed from Kristi Noem’s press conference:

“I’ve seen that one clip. It’s horrible. It is shocking at every level. It’s not the America I know.”

  • Mayors

  • Senators

What is next, they keep testing their limits and keep getting away with it.

This is what Trump's government thugs are willing to do in broad daylight, to a US Senator, with cameras on.

They are sending the message that anyone who disagrees with Trump isn't safe in America.

This is authoritarianism.

In the past week, a union leader has been arrested, a U.S. Rep charged with a crime, a U.S. Senator violently handcuffed, and reporters shot with rubber bullets and detained. There is no ambiguity. This is a regime operating as an authoritarian. Americans who believe in liberty must oppose it.

House Speaker Mike Johnson calls for the Senate to "censure" Alex Padilla after he was restrained and handcuffed by FBI agents at Kristi Noem's presser, adding that it is "wildly inappropriate behavior."

So it looks like Republicans want to escalate this!

Mike would shoot his own mother if Donald demanded it.

If the feds’ objective is to “liberate” Los Angeles and California from its democratically elected leadership, then this not a peacekeeping mission but a program of invasion.

It’s blindingly clear at this point that the protestors in Los Angeles are in fact helping to prevent a fascist takeover, and the pundits who suggested that protest is counterproductive were being either stupid or actively malicious.

Best start studying the French, South Koreans, etc. Though if Americans protested like the French did, I think US Media would piss their pants so much they'd suggest shooting all Americans, Lol. They can't even cope with the mild protests happening right now.

It's the Israel I know...

Trump is copying Netanyahu and Putin to become the dictator he always dreamed of being.

Well it's mostly the white imported Israelis that are for this genocide :/

Look at the Settlers, those are not the Mizrahi Jews that are descendants of ancient Levant just like the Palestinians still living in the area.

Mizrahi Jews in Israel have historically faced discrimination and marginalization, particularly from the dominant Ashkenazi Jewish community. This discrimination manifested in various forms, including social prejudice, economic disparity, and denial of equal opportunities in sectors like education and housing.

It's the white immigrants causing all the trouble.

And yes, you're far ahead of the rest of the world recognizing this as a genocide. Yet it's born out of western colonial white privilege and still fueled by exactly that.

I shared this response with my bro and he had some words to say:

I agree that white western privilege is real and white westerners aim to preserve their position of privilege.

Regarding Israel-Palestine, I agree that white supremacy does to some extent underpin the Zionist project and the ideology of Zionism. However, the fundamental issue is settler-colonialism, not whiteness - for example, Mizrahi Jews and Ethiopian Jews might be treated badly in Israeli society, but they’re still fundamentally engaged in and advancing a colonial project of ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Palestinians. Mizrahi Jews are some of the furthest right people in Israel, e.g. Ben-Gvir is Mizrahi. I don’t know the breakdown of Mizrahi vs Ashkenazi Jews settling the WB/East Jerusalem, but I know that Mizrahi broadly support the colonization and ethnic cleansing of the West Bank just as much as Ashkenazi do. This is largely a result of the historical discrimination you mentioned - Mizrahi were pressured by the Ashkenazi to drop their Arab identity and take on a purely Jewish identity, and they have over time overcompensated and become some of the most anti-Arab racist and Jewish supremacist members of Israeli society.

Tl;dr - white supremacy certainly underpins Zionism and the Israeli colonial project to a large extent, with its origins as a British Empire-backed colonial outpost in the Middle East and continuation as an “unsinkable aircraft carrier” for the American Empire, but the fundamental issue isn’t necessarily whiteness, but rather settler-colonialism regardless of racial/ethnic background of those carrying out the settler-colonialism, be they Ashkenazi, Mizrahi, or Ethiopian.

Yes that's called radicalization, happens on the Palestinian side as well and in the US also. Plenty immigrants turn against immigration after considering themselves 'assimilated'.

But my point is still the same, it's the white imported Zionists that started this mess. Mizrahi Jews and Arabs/Palestinians were living fine side by side before the British occupation and Zionist immigration.

The lead figure of the Settler colonial project is Daniella Weiss
https://edition.cnn.com/2024/03/20/middleeast/israel-gaza-settlers-daniella-weiss

Daniella Weiss was born in Bnei Brak, Mandatory Palestine, in 1945. Her father was from the United States and her mother was born in Poland and raised in Palestine since her first year of life.[6] Both Jewish immigrants, they were members of Lehi, a Zionist paramilitary terrorist[7][8] organization, and took part in underground activities.

Netanyahu came from Polish immigrants as well, originally named Mileikowsky.

But indeed, the sad truth now is that 82% of Israelis support ethnic cleansing.

In 2020 it was about half of the country that was for annexing the Westbank
https://www.reuters.com/article/world/half-of-israelis-support-west-bank-annexation-poll-finds-idUSKBN23A275/

I don't see a recent poll on that, but that's likely changed for the worse as well.

Indeed, too many Americans are still in denial about what is happening. The collective stupidity of the country will be its downfall.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Israel launched a pre-emptive strike on Tehran, the capital of Iran.

So much for no new wars started under Trump.

Trump ripped up the 2015 Iran Nuclear deal just because it was negotiated by Obama. He never replaced it with a concrete policy and in recent weeks seemed to be desperate for a new agreement.

Oh well.

Iran’s Press TV says residential buildings targeted

The official Iranian news outlet shares photos of what it said were residential buildings struck in the apparent Israeli attack. The pictures showed substantial damage to the buildings.

Israeli military says it struck military and nuclear sites in Iran

The Israeli military has confirmed that it carried out strikes against Iran, using dozens of jets, saying that it targeted military and nuclear sites. It called the attack “a precise and integrated preemptive strike based on high-quality intelligence, with the aim of striking the Iranian nuclear programme”.

US not involved in strikes against Iran, says top diplomat

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warns Iran against targeting US bases in the region, stressing that Washington is not taking part in the Israeli strikes.

“We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region. Israel advised us that they believe this action was necessary for its self-defense,” Rubio said in a statement.

“President Trump and the Administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target US interests or personnel.”

US-Iran talks unlikely on Sunday

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Iran analyst Trita Parsi said that with the Israeli strike against Iran early on Friday, the prospects of the talks between the US and Iran is moving “towards a much more negative situation”.

“There’s not going to be any talks this coming Sunday,” Parsi of the Quincy Institute said.

“No one knows when the talks would resume if they resume at all. We will likely see snapback actions in the UN Security Council against Iran and the re-impostion of more sanctions.”

In that scenario, it is “very likely” that Tehran will walk out of the Treaty of Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Parsi added.

“The risk of a larger confrontation will then increase.”

All indications that US was aware of Israel’s plans to attack Iran

Certainly all the arrows point in that direction that Donald Trump was told that there was going to be some sort of strike.

You’ll remember that just 48 hours ago the United States, in fact 24 hours ago the United States, announced that it was going to start moving non-essential personnel out of the embassy in Baghdad and also recommending that others in embassies around the region could also leave if they wish.

That seemed to suggest that there was going to be an attack of some sort.

Donald Trump in the last few hours put out a post on his Truth Social platform saying that he had directed his entire government to move towards a diplomatic solution with Iran.

The bottom line was he didn’t want Iran to get a nuclear weapon but he was hoping that there would be talks. The fact that the Israelis have gone ahead would suggest that while the US was not involved, and that’s what we’re hearing, they were informed about what was likely to happen.

Donald Trump currently at the congressional picnic at the White House would have been informed in what exactly the Israelis were going to do. The big question now of course is how the United States react to any response from Iran.
