So you mean a guy who bankrupted 4 casinos is… bad for the economy? Who would’ve fucking guessed?

I mean, we and the top economists in the world tried to warn you for months and yet the people voting for the “leopards eating faces” ticket have the gall to act surprised when their faces get eaten.

.@POTUS: "We've lost millions of people due to fentanyl. It comes mostly from China, but it comes through Mexico, and it comes through Canada. I have to tell you that on April 2nd, the tariffs go on... and I think you're going to see something that's going to be amazing."

Millions of Mexicans have died from the illegal American weapons trade flowing south across the border, all because of American drug use.

Trump's vision for Gaza...

US Muslim rights group slams Trump’s AI-generated Gaza video

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has denounced an AI-generated video shared by US President Donald Trump, depicting his vision for the future of the Gaza Strip with golden Trump statues, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and billionaire Elon Musk.

The video portrays a rebuilt Gaza with skyscrapers, luxury cars and belly dancers, following images of destruction in the enclave. It also shows Musk celebrating under falling money and Trump drinking shirtless with Netanyahu by a pool.

It also shows Musk celebrating under falling money and Trump drinking shirtless with Netanyahu by a pool.“If President Trump is serious about pursuing peace, he should stop posting AI fantasies of a Gaza filled with idols of himself and start pursuing the establishment of a free and independent Palestinian state, including Gaza,” CAIR said in a statement.

So far during this presidency, Republicans have:

1.) antagonized our allies (Denmark, Mexico, Canada)

2.) cozied up to our enemies

3.) working on dismantling much of our government including national parks, and Medicaid.

I think the most frustrating part though, is that many Republicans are celebrating a lot of this.

A lot of them are going to get hurt in the short term and probably the long term even more.

When Trump dies and there's nobody to carry the MAGA torch because it's a cult and nobody else has the same cult following as Trump, I predict we will see a lot of Republicans all of a sudden being like "I never liked Trump anyway!"

The impression I've been getting along the years is that there's probably a significant chunk of Republican politicians that don't really like Trump but play along because they see him as their chance as politicians - their only chance at the moment. I'm sure many such people are just waiting for the Trump era to be over. That said, there are surely many politicians that actually like Trump, so we'll see how things pan out.

This is what I keep trying to tell people. Trump is a symptom, not a disease.

MAGA is the result of 200 years of white conservative grievance because the world isn't the way they want it to be. That's not going to go away when Trump does. Before Trump, it was Reagan. Before Reagan, it was George Wallace. In Wallace's case, they settled for Nixon as a more nationally acceptable alternative for moderates. Trump is the Wallace presidency they wanted back in 1968. It's not about eggs, or "kitchen table issues." It's about punishing the heathens. "Heathen" is the Christian version of "infidel." They'll gladly go into an economic depression if it means they take their enemies down with them.

You're talking only about politicians, right? I'm asking because my impression is that among the people, he has support from more groups than that, and he's a symptom of not just one but several diseases.

+ This Gem.

Musk: I should say we will make mistakes. We won't be perfect. But when we make a mistake we'll fix it quickly. So for example with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled briefly was Ebola prevention.

We almost killed a bunch of people, oopsie. However...

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID.

This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC.

What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

Nope. I am talking about the people and why MAGA simply will not go away. They’ll still have the same grievances when he’s gone. They’ll just shop around for another politician who will indulge their 200 year old grievances. What they want is a white evangelical ethnostate.  The politicians are just the enablers.

Hmm. I would guess there's lot of different kinds of people voting for Trump, but I can't claim to know enough to say for sure. You're probably better informed than I am.
