China Vows To Support World Health Organization After US Withdrawal | Barron's

Fucking LOL at Trump handing China a win.

There's also Trump ripping up anything green energy related and instead going back to dying energy industries which are finite, meanwhile China is leading the way in green energy production, the actual future, and when America is still clinging onto a dying energy source, China will be there to supply the world with their green energy solutions when the time comes, leaving America behind.

USA will cling onto old technologies while China advances to future technologies and when USA is finally ready to stop clinging onto the past, it'll be too late for them to take advantage of the future, they'll be left behind, and China's supply of green energy solutions will also come with political influence, when they produce the solar panels, the wind farms, etc, that supply Africa, Asia, Europe, etc.

Combine it with shit like this.

That's the thing...I agree that people do stupid shit but you're supposed to LEARN from your mistakes. the US Made that mistake in 2016 and should have known better. And since mistakes like these are monumental, you're SUPPOSED to look to history books. "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it", they say. Well, as much as I'd rather attribute this to ignorance, willingly ignoring signs and actively pushing for all the 'isms' and cheering whenever civil rights are rolled back...I have to attribute WAY too much of it to malice.

There's no way this was an accident. a Mistake, yes, but not an accident.

I think peoples priorities are different today, which is what spurred the re-election of Trump.
Trump was an abject failure during his last term, couldn't even build a wall, let alone get Mexico to pay for it... And the amount of toxic drama was just never ending.
Couldn't even manage a pandemic effectively.

But the main issue that drives people today is inflation, people are tired of it. Trump made promises to fix it... Hence his big win I think, especially with swing voters and families doing it tough... Hard to vote for a current sitting party when the minimum wage is still $7.50 and the price of everything has increased substantially.

...I think the big shock will be when Tariffs come in and people see the price of goods increase correspondingly, that cost of living won't get easier under Trump.

But yes, the "Roman salute" has happened before in American politics, this time Musk was a little more intentional with his actions, but I am still happy to give him the benefit of a doubt... He was detestable even without Nazi propaganda.

I am seeing this image propagating at the moment, the context missing is obviously... And without context the intent and the actions leading up to the arm raise come into question.
And ultimately that's the key take away... Intent.

That's just how the Democrats are. No matter how messed up it is that Trump got re-elected, the Democrats still follow official procedures and traditions as if Trump were an incoming president like any other. Inbetween these perplexing moments of kindness that should be interpreted as respect for the American democracy rather than respect for Trump, Biden keeps warning about how dangerous Trump is.

@Ryuu96 Cops endorsing Trump shows how stupid cops can be. It wasn't a secret at all that Trump regarded the rioters as heroes, because leading up to the election he talked about them every week in the most favorable terms.

It's mindboggling how easily Americans as a whole were duped by Trump when that man had amassed so much history of lying, incompetence and ineptitude.

No.

Biden comes from a time when politicians at least paid lip service to written and unwritten rules about protocol and statesmanship in government, and Biden seems to genuinely believe in them. Besides, what would it gain him at this point to be rude to Trump? He's a retired politician, and he knows there are no guardrails in the government anymore. Look what they want to do with a member of clergy that delivered a mild but pointed rebuke to the Trump administration. He probably doesn't trust Trump to not try to push the envelope on ignoring presidential pardons and going after his family and colleagues anyway.

That's part of why this collection of junkyard dogs gets what it wants. They realized the first time around that the system of checks and balances is an illusion. Trump was held at bay the first time not by constitutionally defined mechanisms, but by the American equivalent of the Praetorian Guard. This time, he's made sure that the Praetorian Guard is loyal to Caesar. Democrats have tried to maintain institutional respect. Biden tried to work in good faith with a Congress and courts loaded with bad-faith actors. He probably secretly wished that he could get away with flouting customs and law like Trump does in enacting his agenda.
