Wtf are Americans doing in Syria?

US forces are everywhere

Syria is caught in a civil war with USA, Israel, Russia, Iran, Turkey and Saudi-Arabia meddling :/
https://www.britannica.com/event/Syrian-Civil-War/Uprising-in-Syria-2011

The US is still there to go after ISIL/ISIS (Islamic state in Iraq and Syria)

I knew they had 40 thousand troops in the middle East and they announced  they are sending more not even a day or two ago it's just they are not anywhere where I imagined them. 900 just sitting there in the interest of nothing. I would have expected them to be in Iraq and Kuwait still and in more friendly nations like the UAE but not inside the border of every country on the map aside from Yemen but that's wild. 900 just sitting there in Syria, a few hundred there in Omen. Are they just holding down air strips to get people and equipment quickly into those countries should some beef occur or are they there for Iran. 😕 I wonder how the numbers look for all Western countries in the region.

  • Ukraine won the Battle of Kyiv = Correct.
  • Reclaimed over half of its seized territory = Correct.
  • Safeguarded its independence = Partly correct, Russia still has a lot portion of Ukraine territory and could further increase.
  • Continue to defend its freedom = Correct.

Failing to see why this tweet is shit?

And "escalation management" Biden finally changed his wording from the stupid "as long as it takes" to "win this war" which is another good thing.

8 more billion. I want to see Ukraine get it's country back but I also want to see this damn war stop and a peaceful solution to be made, I'm conflicted I guess. I just don't see how 8 billion more worth of bombing, Death and destruction is gonna end this. I wish he'd stay out after a certain point, that's clearly what Russia wants at this point, a way out. If NATO came out and said hey, we'll stop funding Ukraine if you back off and go back to doing your own thing and regain some sanity, we don't have to say it in words, we'll gesture you to have an out and you can look good in doing so. We won't too close to the border and you have nothing to fear with Eastern European countries being part of Nato. Can we all admit this was an awful mistake and move on, let's get the farmland of Ukraine back up and running and some trade going as a handshake.

...I'm probably being naive. But I know one thing. 8 billion more death machines ain't gonna help a thing. It's just shit.

$8bn of which around half was set to expire at the end of September so might as well use it now.

"I want to see Ukraine get it's country back but I also want to see this damn war stop and a peaceful solution to be made"

The only way Ukraine is getting its country back is by force, we tried peaceful solutions and Russia threw them back in our face. We tried to avoid violence during WW2 and look at that where that got us, America tried to be isolationist during WW2 and look at where that got them. We're dealing with a modern day Hitler and your suggestion is for us to be Neville Chamberlains.

"I just don't see how 8 billion more worth of bombing, Death and destruction is gonna end this."

How will abandoning Ukraine end the war? Why the fuck would Russia not simply take the rest of Ukraine if we stopped supplying them with equipment TO DEFEND THEMSELVES. Russia has zero intention of stopping, they've made clear REPEATEDLY that their goals are unchanged. They (Putin) wants all of Ukraine under Russia's thumb.

I wish he'd stay out after a certain point

Congrats on throwing Ukraine under the bus and letting Russia slaughter the rest of the country.

That's clearly what Russia wants at this point

Yes, Russia wants the countries supporting Ukraine against their genocidal campaign to stop supporting Ukraine, no shit.

A way out.

Russia has a way out, get the fuck out of Ukraine and they'll be no more war and the sanctions will be lifted.

If NATO came out and said hey, we'll stop funding Ukraine if you back off and go back to doing your own thing and regain some sanity, we don't have to say it in words, we'll gesture you to have an out and you can look good in doing so.

For the 50,000th time this war was never about NATO but simply an excuse to invade. Did you not read my post at all in the other thread? Wasn't it you I already explained this all to?

We won't too close to the border and you have nothing to fear with Eastern European countries being part of Nato.

For the love of God, NATO already borders Russia via Finland, Estonia, Latvia and by extension of Kaliningrad; Lithuania and Poland.

It is in fact Eastern European countries that have something to fear, not Russia, they joined NATO of their own free will because of fucking Russia's aggression. It's not everyone else's fault that Russia is a violent bloodthirsty country. Eastern European countries hate Russia for good reason.

I'm probably being naive.

Yeah, you are, and you never consider what Ukraine wants or Ukraine's independence, Ukraine shouldn't be allowed to join NATO, Ukraine shouldn't be allowed allies, Ukraine shouldn't be allowed this and that, NATO borders Russia because of big bad America and not because Eastern European countries wanted to be in NATO.

You're speaking on this situation from the privilege of being from Ireland, actually try to consider how those in Eastern Europe feel.

But I know one thing. 8 billion more death machines ain't gonna help a thing. It's just shit.

Yes it will, it helps Ukraine to defend themselves from Russian aggression. If anything we're not going far enough, I've been very critical of Biden's foreign policy in recent months because he has been too cowardly on helping Ukraine against Russia, for the love of fuck did we not learn a damn thing from WW2 and desperately trying to seek "peace" while some dude in another country uses all kinds of excuses as to why he's slaughtering the people of other countries.

Russia wants out? That's great! What's stopping them from leaving?

You can tell Putin would leave the war if he had a chance to do so and look good in the process, like keep parts of Eastern Ukraine. I'm fairly sure this is how experts and analysts are accessing things but it's just my gut feeling.

BTW. Are you okay man? You're always very quick to sarcasm and spite.

Your suggestion is to let them keep Eastern Ukraine? Are YOU okay? This is not how experts and analysts see this, most actual military analysts and historians agree that this would be a stupid and horrible compromise not just for Ukraine but for world peace, your suggestion is to reward the genocidal maniac with 20% of a country when the only reason Putin may be regretting the invasion is because his military was a corrupt joke and has now became bogged down and needs a reset, which is hard to do during wartime.

What would happen is Russia keeps 20% of Ukraine, they fix their systemic military issues and then when Ukraine is defenceless once again because they can't join any alliances for some reason that only benefits Russia, they would then make another attempt on Ukraine and either this time be successful in taking the entire country or they'd take another 20% and then we'd hear from the same people again "oh lets just make peace, let them keep that 20% too" and then again and again until they have the entire thing.

Why do I know this? Because it is what any dictator would do and it's what Russia has already done to Ukraine, they didn't start their invasion of Ukraine in 2022, they started in 2014 by forcefully taking over Crimea because they claimed it wasn't Ukraine's, what did the world do? Exactly what you're suggesting, "Let them have it, for peace!" and what did Russia do? Invade more of Ukraine in 2022.

When are you guys going to learn that bending over backwards for a fascist monster doesn't stop the fascist monster? Why is some dude from Ireland which nobody gives a fuck about invading telling Ukraine that they should surrender 20% of their damn territory that they've fought and died for? Territory that still has Ukrainians being treated horribly by Russians.

How about this scenario; Your neighbour breaks into your house because he claims he's paranoid about you being near him, he slaughters half your family, then he takes up residence in a couple rooms in your home, then the police come over and say "Suck it up, let him live with you, it's for peace bro" and then abandon you to deal with it yourself.
