Greetings people and welcome to the Multiplatform 2023 OpenCritic Prediction League! Since I like the concept of the yearly Prediction League and there are a ton of noteworthy multiplatform games scheduled for 2023, which wouldn’t fit in existing console-brand Leagues, I wanted to take a stab at making a new Prediction League specifically for those. If you’ve seen previous threads by shikamaru317, TheWalrusCaesar or Doctor_MG you should already be familiar with the concept and the rules are mostly the same with some minor changes.

The Rules:

1. Predict as many or as few games as you like. Those who make predictions on all games will have an advantage in the overall leaderboard, but I will also list average points and number of closest predictions.
2. OpenCritic scores will be updated until the end of the year. If a score changes after I've tallied the points for a game feel free to let me know.
3. You can change or post a prediction up until a week before the game releases.

Scoring:

I’ve changed the scoring system ever so slightly to make it easier to calculate and also added a 2 point bonus to the guess/guesses that are closest to the actual score as an extra reward (and to avoid situations where no or almost no points are awarded if everyone is far off).

As for the games here, we obviously can’t include every multiplat of the year for good reason, but I’ve tried to include the releases I think will be most interesting/noteworthy to the people of VgChartz. Well, that and also Skull and Bones as a wild card. Let me know if there are any particular games you feel are missing or if anything new is announced for a 2023 release.

To avoid a too overwhelming number of games some potential titles have been left out (Wild Hearts, Atomic Heart, Wo Long, Dead Island 2 and Alan Wake II), but if there's large demand for a particular title to be added, I'm definitely willing to do so.

Armored Core 4 and V both have a 65 Metascore and Armored Core 3 has a 74 so I really don't know what to expect. On one hand From Software is clearly better than they were back then, but on the other hand Armored Core is in a genre they haven't done anything highly rated since Armored Core 2 with a 78 in 2000.
So I'm not expecting much but it'll be better than the previous two entries.

They're not just better themselves, they're also much more widely known and appreciated - almost revered - by a lot of critics. I think that alone gives the game an extra few points, even if it ends up being comparable to the last couple of entries.

So... seems Skull and Bones got delayed to the next fiscal year (shoutout to Ubisoft for giving me a good excuse to bump the thread). That does mean it technically could end up not releasing until early next year, but for now I've just moved it to the bottom of the list and you can keep placing predictions on it as before (I suspect a 2023 release is still most likely).

So since the future of other Prediction Leagues is uncertain at the moment (I have been unable to reach @Doctor_MG. Let me know if you see this and are planning to continue the Nintendo League) I considered running other leagues myself OR changing the format altogether to make Quarterly Prediction Leagues across console brands and multiplats, which I think might have some advantages. More info and examples in the OP.
